Great idea, go in field, get off this board, and a miracle will happen, you'll be doing your job and will probably hit your number and get paid big.
A little perspective would benefit both sides of this discussion.
First off, there were no "bad" or "illegal" business practices with this division of Genzyme, nobody went to jail, nobody paid any legal bills, etc. There was terric patientcare delivered as a result of the sales of this divison's products. The marketplace & accepted practices changed, not unlike other disciplines of surgical sales. This was a proud, successful, & highly profitable division of Genzyme performing miracles in the Sales area. This group did more with less certainly than their competitors as well as peer companies. There were many, many very talented reps & managers here, making a good income, most have left & prospered nicely as well. If this group was not as talented as they were, Sanofi would not have retained them.
The reps from the previous regime profited nicely while in the employment of Genzyme as well as when Sanofi acquired them via their stock ownership. Few Reps & Managers have made as much on their stock for the little that they contributed to the bottom line or appeal from Sanofi as this group. They were very fortunate.
Sanofi didn't need to keep this group either, certainly they could have sold them off, disbanded the group, put everyone on the street...anybody ever consider that in this economy while you're complaining?
Sanofi, an RX Company, as the acquiring company, provides the corporate edict for procedures & business practices, these have worked well for them, they are a highly successful organization. Many additional Reps were hired last year in Sanofi's attempt improve sales as well as acquiring a new company & product to generate revenue for this sales force. The minimal return would not even create a footnote on Sanofi's ledger from either Le Goo or Sepra Film, but they tried & were not successful. They could have downsized the sales force substantially for missing targets as well, certainly this is a very accepted business practice in the Device World, ever consider that?
Sanofi chose to place people in positions of authority that may not have been the best suited for their new roles, but they didn't choose them because they wanted them to fail.
Accepted business practices have changed, the tenure of the sales force has changed as well, but the one thing that is consistent from 10 years ago is that Reps are better-off for their experience with this organization than without it. Most reps when starting with this company were not earning 170-180K but many have, they weren't selling in the OR previously (which is the most lucrative area of Medical Sales) & now have received that experience, in short this Division gave & continues to give more to its Reps than it receives from them in the bigger picture!
There is nothing holding anyone to their position, the door swings both ways, & if it was so easy to leave, I think many desiring to would have left already. I can assure you of this, this Divison can replace it's reps much easier than reps can find a 150K+ job.
People change, organizations change, markets change, this Division is not the first to go through this, virtually each major surgical device manufacturer is feeling downward pressure financially on their reps today. This organization is no different; doesn't make it any easier to take. Looking back for those days 10 years ago is like Organized Labor looking for the Union Jobs in Manufacturing in the 50's, they are gone & aren't coming back. Blaming previous Reps or Management for today's problems is like the Obama Administration blaming Bush for their problems, its a bad practice that doesn't improve the present situation.
Life is too short to be this unhappy, if you want to leave, AMF.
There is always someone who can run the ball a little faster that is dying for the chance.
Thanks. Ouch, that hurts. Guess I'm going be working for awhile. Any plans to re-launch, maybe with revised pricing?
Stick around for what??? What are we waiting for?
Oh, I know....our quotas. We don't get quotas until more then a month into the quarter. How can we hit our tmonthly number if we don't have it? It's just wrong!!! Wrong!! They are screwing people and messing with their livelyhood.
Sepra was built on real grease ball dirty selling. For some reason some of those that participated in grease ball selling are still here trying to cling to a past that is long gone. The choice is yours - stay and adapt or leave. Don't know why you are staying...hmmmmm. Right, you're a grease ball and no one will hire you.
DG needs to go! So either management is completely blind to her incompetence at leading and managing as evidenced by the morale in the East and the number of people quitting OR she is doing managements bidding and just getting rid of people and cleaning house. My theory is she is driving off current reps so she can continue to fill positions with her Sanofi pharma lackeys.
Accurate post. At least 4 of DG managers are looking. The 2 that aren't TB (part of problem and back stabber and GC (new not her fault) aren't going to solve bigger issues. Ricks a good guy, but DG is out to get him, talks behind his back every chance she gets. Says she's his friend but is brining her enemy close so she can take his job. No one cares though, she will be vp of sales by end of year and more carcasas fro her doing will be road kill.
