News from WWSM

You better be back in your room by 10:00 or your CSM will ground you for a week! Mine kept repeated this all day at our break out sessions. No more the 2 drinks, everyone is watching you and opinions are made on how late you stay out. Give me a break. Please fire me....

And get up at 5am to go through the tech suite!

Proving the point about generation gaps. Do you really need compassion and understanding out of an employer? Do you think your parents had compassion and understanding in their jobs? Well, you probably came from a broken home or were spoiled and are accustomed to being coddled. Many younger professionals have unrealistic expectations from employers. We are in the age of entitlement - where people want employers to pay them much money, take care of them personally and professionally, promote them and tell them they are wonderful. A utopia. You will be happy about what Obama is building. You can work for the government and fit right in. Some Managers and Upper Managers have flaws and some have low character and can be disingenuous but that is everywhere and in any company. That is a people issue not a company one. In my 4 years, I've seen them come and go. Just hold to your standards and don't concern yourself with "them". It's unhealthy.

I apologize for being more ambitious than you were in your 20's oldtimer. I totally should've settled for making 30K/yr at enterprise rent a car like I'm "supposed to", where they give YOU the tools to succeed.

I don't care what your opinion is nameless, faceless person. Get off your soapbox and go whine about Obama on Fox News forum.

You're a detached souless person. My parents employers did have compassion and cared about them as human beings. I remember my father actually received a gift from his boss every Christmas. When he was sick with cancer all his coworkers reached out to us. I can't imagine that ever happening here. There's a fine line between making money and greed. The management here couldn't care less about doing the right thing in life and being good people.

100% accurate! I've never met a more selfish, soul-less, non-human bunch than the CSD's at ISI! How many are still married and see their children on a regular basis? You could probably count on ONE hand!!

Phew!! I made it back to my room before the 1000p curfew. Saw a few of the CSDs corralling near elevators. Last night of the meeting... Usually a few CLMs made on this night. Wonder who the body snatchers will take away next?

Seriously? Are there curfews and hall monitors and RA's like in college dorms? Why TF is anyone working there? Is it a "I'm a big deal because I work at Intuitive" thing? What a bunch of tools. Do you raise your hand in the meeting if you have to take a dump? Is there a robot to wipe for you?

Very true but just remember this starts with JM and JA and goes all the way down.

Ambitious?? You don't have a clue - a typical, expected response. Ambitious people don't blame others for their problems.

Any CLMs from last night? Can you share examples of past CLMs?

Funny you ask this. Nothing dramatic comes to my mind. I believe this comment is better explained as the necessity to always be on your toes. Always, always, always stay "above the line". Essentially act like a neutered dog. And you'll be fine.

Biggest thing to remember at this company is you are always in the spotlight. Someone is always paying attention to you. How you talk, how you act, what type of team player you are.

Bc when it comes time for you to pursue that promotion, they will have a book on you. They will ask others about you. They will conduct cross interviews with your peers, and ask them to evaluate you. And many times the most memorable impressions come from how you perform over these week long meetings.

I don't necessarily knock this tactic. But it's just the way some of these people do it. It is so sadistic.

There have been people at Intuitive with similar debilitating health issues that have personally been supported by leadership. One in particular was hit by a car and Intuitive continued to pay for their salary and held their job and there have been many others that you don't hear about. There absolutely are some thoughtless leaders. But you'll find that in any company. You are just too inexperienced to realize it. You'll run to a grass is greener situation and find there are heartless pricks there also. If you want a Christmas gift, go be a school teacher.
