New Kyprolis Sales Team thoughts at Onyx?

Where's everyone? Quiet before storm? 1st quarter Nexavar bonus sucked and Stivarga not a whole lot better. Stock is the only payout these days as there is no bonus. Feel sorry for those newbies that joined, not the same place. Feels a whole lot like big pharma

Anyone making any bonus this quarter for Kyprolis? Goals are so big, no reason to even try.

very seriously doubt that I will. Another example of what happens when you let the enthusiasm of the sales at launch cloud your vision as to what the product is really capable of with the data that is out there. Now that we have run out of the patients that were truly out of options we are getting a more realistic view of the market. Although pomalyst is not that great of a drug we have people choosing it first because they like imids.

And now we have to listen to Steve Vickers try to pump us up for the third quarter on a conference call on Monday.

Maybe the least they can do is pay everyone at 100% of goal since about half the salesforce isnt making 100% or no money at all. Nothing like kicking us in the ba#$ twice in one week! Fun while it lasted, please Onyx, at least make it right for Q2, we have families and now no job soon!! Thanks for taking those options away in February too!!

didn't even last a year. have fun back in big pharma...if amgen decides to keep any of you.

all the arogant kyprolis folks just got their bubble burst. Back to big pharma, if you get to keep your job. Everyone with any brains knew this gig wouldn't last long. If they vest your original options after taxes, that should help you pay for your cars that you all had to buy. Good luck with that.

In know, if they do not come up with some sort or retention bonus or something worth staying, I am taking the next good thing and getting out of here. We don't need the stress! And we were worries about the stupid car plan!

True, well played Onyx. New PI and KI reps came on at their own free will hoping for a different culture and a chance to grow with a company. Most of us left 50k or more in options at our last companies for a chance for more. Though there were huge promises coming on board last year, including 1300 more options in March, that mysteriously went away in February due to a new policy, but that's besides the point. Anyway, we put our blood, sweat, and tears into this launch and we may have a chance to cash in about 200k maybe? After 40% taxes and paying our cars we had to buy for this job, and looking for new job, we may break even, but definitely not worth the stress on you or your families. Even worse, managers, directors, and even old timer KI reps are so giddy and happy about buying cars and houses and taking a couple years off, please be sensitive to the ones that are not so fortunate and don't throw it in our faces. I do not know 1 PI rep that is happy about this and everyone is running in circles trying to figure out what to do and are in survival mode. Chances are, our former companies will be buying Onyx and there will not be an opportunity available for us. So while everyone above sales is over the moon and happy, please think about those in the field and on the ground that help make it happen. What a great year for Onyx and I hope everyone lands on their feet nicely. Just my 2 cents....

Understand completely and I've been here since the beginning. The culture was never that great and lots of broken promises. Onyx never treated us great, it was better than most big pharma and they aimed for the median. Bonuses always get pulled back so you make it one year and not the next. Car allowance never changed, 401k stagnant. The only thing that pulled us above water is buying proteolix 3 years ago and that was a fluke. I'm glad to move on from this wasteland of morals and ineptitude. People are rewarded for drinking and screwing their way to the top. Just my two cents. Get put of pharma....all the good people have left.

What 'broken promises'? This company made us multi millionaires and your bitching about 401k, car allowance, and bonus holdback???? Talk about corrupted morals...and lack of perspective!!!! Been here since the beginning as well and if you lack the appreciation for what this company has given us to be glorified caterers than you can take your "morals" and leave. No doubt someone from the 'self-righteous' region.

AMEN!!!

don't get me wrong I am thankful I had the opportunity here and took the huge risk 8 years ago when the company had no R & D, 1/2 of a drug in Nexavar, and no 401K or lack of when we took the huge risk to come here. With that said, this has been a ride and full of people in management (some are still here and some left) that were extremely unethical. You had to drink and sleep your way to big pay raises and more options. They were not very smart either. Now that I can now bank some cash I could write a book about this place. You had to live through it to even believe half of the stuff that has gone on here. PI reps you got about 100X more than the original people did after not even a year of work so quit your crying. One year into it our options were underwater by about 20 bucks. If you knew it was a risk and you made a hell of alot of money so I really don't have sympathy for any of you.

Well said.....it's been a hell of a roller coaster for most of us oldies at Onyx. Yes, I took the risk but soon found out that it wasn't the shiny place I thought it was and that management was a joke! Sorry you RK and PS buddies, but they didn't know what the hell they were doing and the stock was never above the thirties until last year. No thanks to anyone other than the biz development group..we all lucked out as most of us never thought we'd be bought out let alone the stock hitting $130. The new folks have nothing to cry about as most of you came from big pharma and did not build this company. Be happy you're getting a buck and change and got to drive a nice car for the last 6 months. I deserve every penny from this buyout and on to the next gig with options!

1. The Onyx old-timers deserve every cent they made in options for hanging in there as long as they did (well, apart from a couple of people we shall speak not of--they deserve nothing)

2. The PI people made boat-loads of bonus--more than some KI people made in bonus in 3 years! So, no one really feels sorry for you. You will make some money on your options too. Add that to your launch bonus windfall, and you did alright! If you bought a showy, overly expensive car, that's your fault, not Onyx's.

3. Depending on who buys Onyx, the sales reps--KI and PI---might still have jobs, so why worry about anything until it happens. If you are a good rep, you'll find work, and you have a chunk of money to tide you over until then. Or maybe use this opportunity to find a new line of work?

4. Everyone should be grateful---EVERYONE. Some of you sound like little whiners. The pharmaceutical industry has afforded you a standard of living that only a small percentage of people could ever dream of. Remember Onyx's field: Oncology ! People are dying every day from cancer. Everyone should just count their lucky stars and get their perspectives straight.

Not self-righteous, just a grounded realist.

Damn well said and especially true about some deserve nothing. And are lucky they still had jobs

Totally agree. Things happen for a reason and good reps will find a job. Please, quit worrying, it serves no purpose except it gives you and others anxiety. The company will be sold, everyone will make some money and life continues. Some people will make more, others less, but forget about the things you cannot control and live your own life. Karma takes care of the rest/everyone else. Please no more sour grapes.
