New Kyprolis Sales Team thoughts at Onyx?


I never would have taken this job or went out and bought a brand new car if I would have known this. This has to be criminal to sell this benefit to you on your interview, then bring it up 4 times at our first training and first impressions of the company. How many times did we hear, if you haven't bought a car, don't!! Only 3 people in the class raised their hands that did not buy a car already. Great first impression Onyx, welcome to the company and enjoy your $10,000 pay cut!! Wish they would have kept the crab and lobster and give us the car allowance we were promised upon hire. What a freakin' mess!! Thought this company was better than this? Bonus's will change next, guaranteed!!

WAAAHHH!! WAAAHHH!! Welcome to another big pharma outfit, assclowns! you babies are like dinosaurs before the meteorites hit. hope you are bought out in 6 months.
 



What a distraction! Was so excited to come on to Onyx and study hard and make an impact. I thought for one time, this was a great company with transparency and ethics. Now I can't even study because I am so torn on what to do? This car issue really sucks and now I am waiting for the other shoe to fall. Did they just need warm bodies until the buyout? On the bus ride back to the airport, everyone on the bus was deflated and discussing the car allowance instead of the excitement of the launch. Bad timing Onyx to screw the sales force before we even launch a product!! Don't even want to study or come to the training because I am so deflated that they would do this to us? Crazy how we were sold "Best in Class" and it turns out to be "Worst in Class". Oh well, thats pharma these days I guess?
 



Well the good thing is Alexion, Ariad, Aveo, Exelexis, YM Biosciences are hiring 4th quarter. Keep the signing bonus due to misrepresentation (get a lawyer to write this up) and jump on with a company that will not screw with the sales force and break promises the first week out!! This launch is doomed from the start, thanks Onyx!!
 



When reps start figuring out that they are bottom dwellers then the expectations won't be so high. My cousin worked for Ford over 10 years on the "floor" installing windshields. Ironically, much of the same. They cry, complain to the union on what was taken away, what they want to take away thinking they are deserving but at the end of the day only the union & execs make their living.

Floor guys are just not "cherised" as irreplaceable. Talk to any DM. They know REPS ARE REPLACEABLE. They don't even worry or care when 1 leaves. Not a big deal. Same way at Ford. Somebody leaves the plant there are hundreds others that will take the job.

Bottom line: Its the cycle of doing business between employees and employers.

Just don't expect much going forward and everything will be OK.
 



You know who should be replaced????

Big D in training. Never met anyone so arrogant and socially inept. I do not dispute he knows the material. But, if you fail to connect with anyone, then how effective are you really? Vickers could you please step in?

Agree with all but Alexion that stock as sailed and the entire leadership team is as Big Pharma as it gets.

This mileage thing is total bullshit! I can't believe they sprung this news the first week of orientation. I have a large rural territory. If I calculated correctly, I will be losing over $10,000 annually based on the difference in milage reimbursement alone. You can't claim these miles on your tax return, because they were reimbursed, (albeit partially) by the company. The .55 cents set by the federal government takes into consideration all of the variables and variances when setting this rate nationally. The least this company can do is maintain the federal standard.

What will be next?

$.55 is currently the Federal "limit", Your standard is what the company agrees to pay you. Deal with it.

Hopefully Vickers is clued into the disaster that just took place. He needs to take a page from his mentor at Millennium (JR) and take care of his sales force. If RK was still around this cluster would never have been allowed to take place.

These threads are rather sad starting with the very first one...I heard, I heard, I heard. You sound like a bubblegum chewing snot nose little brat. The only thing you heard was the phone ringing and on the other line was a hiring manager telling you you weren't coming here OR your gutless and use words like I heard to start a thread like the issue you're trying to convey is widespread and it's bleeding out into the masses. Get real, no one really cares that much.

So let's assume your gutless. CP is notorious for one or two people creating a thread, pontificating over it and trying to make a bigger deal about something. So our expected milage is going to get cut, so what. It's your fault for not guarding against that risk, meaning you should've negotiated a better salary or not gotten in over your skis on your new car, that by the way you were NOT required to buy upon hire. Why would you (you're training like the rest of us) knowing that the company was looking at changing the policy (at least that's what was communicated to me during the interview process)? That's just dumb.

Look if you don't like the goal post being moved then start your own company and make your own rules. Anytime you work for someone else you take risk, especially on something that is as variable as milage on a company car. Don't sit there and think other companies aren't monitoring their car program either, there's nothing stopping them doing so they certainly let people go at moments notice. I'm really embarrassed to be a colleague of yours when there are so many good ones here. To think you got a job here is amazing amongst itself. You were probably one of those late hires that got rushed through the process and you failed to get all of your questions answered.

You're a one maybe three person band on CP generating replies after replies to your own message making it seem like a bigger issue. Your act or acts are tiresome. You have choices: deal or get out. Think patients care what your milage is? Ask yourself that question along with the income you're making and maybe your little baby whining will stop.

A typical 3rd grader that is. Over exaggerating a headcount of 30 when it was really 3. The car discussion was brought up on Tues and the rest of the week was great because people moved on. Unfortunately, every company has a few bad appples with inflated opinions of themselves and what they think their owed. The industry has been going through a cleansing process over the years and these people will continue to be weeded out.

I'm driving an old car - 1995 Honda to the training...total miles will be near 3000 just to go to and from the meeting....that's how to get your money! Next month I may drive over 6000 miles (reportedly). Who knows I may soon average over 8000 miles per month ....good ol car has wonderful mileage (180,000 on OD) to maniupulate.
 



Everyone relax, this is just a public blog forum where opinions are allowed to be openly expressed. You have a job and you are an employee of the company. Companies will "Flip the Switch" on you all the time. Just enjoy the job, hopefully make some money, and everything will be ok. Everyone in training looks real sharp and can get a job with anyone at anytime. If this doesn't work out, as Jay Z sais "On to the next one". Its not a race, its a marathon. Enjoy this while you can before this all goes away!! Move on to the next big biotech when you are no longer happy. Free country and free labor rules!!

Really? You’re defining a negative change in the culture of a company based on one new auto policy and a weeklong meeting??? If that’s the case then GET OUT!!! You don’t belong here, you don’t deserve to be here, and the people like me who have been here since the beginning, and have worked to create a great culture from the ground up, won’t let some half-wit, big pharma hack, disparage it based on a mileage reimbursement program. Are you fucking kidding me? Mileage??? Do I, or anyone else love this new program? Probably not, even though I haven’t seen it yet or received what my mileage reimbursement for my area, but in no way does that diminish the great culture and people we have here…if you think it does, than again, get out…we’ll replace you with someone better, since you clearly masked your shitty attitude and fooled those who interviewed you…
