New Kyprolis Sales Team thoughts at Onyx?


Wow! Somebody loves that Onyx kool-aid!! Hey, all we have is our first impressions, and its a company that pulled back the car allowance after everyone went out and bought a car!! Ummm, that didnt happen to you so shut it!! All you know is riding Bayers coat tails and cashing in $500,000 in stock because of us!! I would be drinking the cherry and grape kool aid if that was me!! So let's get back to business, shall we? Damn, that test was a biotch!! Who the heck are we selling to anyway, freakin' nuclear scientists or something? Maybe even Einstein himself? Head still hurts!! Wish I was my managers favorite so I could have gotten the test answers too? Next week I am gonna bring the heat baby!! Yessssss!!!
 






While this may help some, the gov't allows a mileage deduction on your income taxes....it's still a tough thing to come back on you with after saying it was part of the benefit.

This is true, BUT, there is a 2% limit of adjusted gross income to write-off excess mileage that is not reimbursed. So if your income for example with base and bonus is $170,000, the first $3400 is NOT tax deductible. The mileage deduction will most likely NOT be available due to the 2% limitation for unreimbursed employee expenses.

I have to agree somewhat- I was told car allowance and milage, bought a car, then they pull the switcharoo. Many of us were taken back when SV asked who has bought a car during training. Bait and Switch- no other way to describe it. If I had known, I would not of bought my new car. I am upset that this could happen, and Mgmt would LET this happen. The true test is to see what they do to make it "Right". I hope the do the "right thing", I want them to do the right thing. If they don't, then they are not following their stated values- Integrity. We are all watching......

Do your research on how Nexavar was developed and also learn about the sales performance of the drug...here is a hint for you….Bayer has NEVER outperformed Onyx in any full quarter or in any year. Because of that performance is why you have a nice new drug to sell Junior.

$500K? That’s chump change! It’s a lot more than that Junior, yet that has nothing to do with why we love this company.

Cleary the first little bump in the road that MAY result in a $5K to $10K difference on what you thought you would ‘make’ on mileage has you bringing out all of your BIG PHARMA baggage out…

Lastly, you think it is a bait and switch? We lived and loved this program for the last seven years!!! I think the change is going to have a much bigger effect on us than it is the new people! You never even realized the .55 a mile!!! You’re crying about something you never even had. Would you really have made a different career move based on a MAXIMUM of .20 a mile difference in mileage reimbursement??? God if that is the case you are an IDIOT and slipped through the cracks to get here!

You might want to recheck your bayer vs onyx performance claim. Simply untrue. The companies have been fairly similar in all metrics with Bayer leading overall in most years.

You are 100% WRONG. We show the slides at every meeting. Bayer does not. They may tell the Bayer people that is is close but they would be lying and would be wrong. Check your facts kid. Not one quarter not one year as Bayer outperformed Onyx. And since launch Onyx has contributed $44M more than Bayer in Nex revenue. The slide was up at out summer POA.
 



The diff between the Bayer and Onyx sales is nil. The departure of RK is the reason for a negative shift in the corporate culture. The poor Kryp sales force will never know the great Onyx culture of the last 6+ years. The Nex sales force will soon be puking up the kool aid. Bad times ahead.

Agree with the RK statement and the culture. The culture here IS done. Still disagree that $44M over 7 years is nil. Bayer sales force by and large is pretty weak and just a bunch of PC reps that got promoted to Leukine, and know very little about oncology outside of Bayer.

Bayer has never beat us in a single quarter or single year...that is not nil. Just ask Rob C...he gets heat for it.
 



Alright...I called SG and your take on the onyx vs bayer efforts is accurate. Not a huge difference, but enough of a diff to draw the conclusion that Onyx has spanked bayer.

Would love to get RK back!! The poor kryp sales force has no idea what a huge loss this was to our organization.

I love it too. I think staying with the current plan during the launch phase, and possibly beyond, is the the right thing to do. My only question, albeit a small one, is why did it take them being pressed on stage to answer it. It has been a distraction since Vickers told everyone "not to buy a car yet", but did not elaborate beyond that.

Do not get me wrong, I like the leadership, they are good intelligent people. I am happy to work here, just do not understand why it was such a mystery, until it was forced upon them on stage.
 



SV is the man. I worked with him before, still talk with him. Great guy!
Enjoy the comp plan. I made tons of dough with him selling an orphan drug in the Tcell market.

Loyal guy. Definitely cares about ppl too. But one caveat, produce for him and he will reciprocate the love :)
