New GSK Diabetes Contract

Omg. Omg. Omg..... Seriously!!! Wow. This is really kind of sounding like a pourly thought out interview plan. I'm flying to Atlanta on Tuesday for this process to commence. I can't believe what I've been reading. How many interviewees have been there at the same time?? Do you interview with just the DM for the district and then the RM if successful? Or multiple managers?

I'm sorry so many of you have had a negative outcome.

My experience was not bad at all. Interview with 2 DMs, sort of panel style, but the hiring manager asked most of the questions. Go over resume, then about 5 STAR questions. If chosen to meet with RD you spent about 15 minutes with them. I am sure that theses guys are exhausted, but I am also sure they are trying their best to treat give everyone the opportunity to present themselves how they want to and to be respectable to all candidates. However, mistakes do happen and exhaustion can take over. Overall a decent interview experience. The traveling and the waiting were the worst part. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you. I am another with close to 15 years in the industry. It should be a slam dunk, but reading through this thread it is rather disheartening. Im flying in and out of Atlanta same day.

Everyone interviewing for my territory had at least that level experience, so it was really a level playing field. I'm am not saying that you shouldn't be the top choice at all, I'm sure you are great at what you do (absolutely no sarcasm implied). I just wanted to warn you that in LA there was an extremely talented candidate pool for all territories that I interacted with (spoke with many people from different areas). I wanted to make sure you knew what to expect and weren't surprised. I wish you the best of luck!

Don't be disheartened but come down to earth. Reps w/ 15 years experience are a dime a dozen and nothing is a slam dunk.

inVentiv just reposted all these jobs in my area on Medzilla.
Are they not planning to make offers to the people with whom they interviewed?
Has anyone actually received a job offer?
I thought they might have processed some this week.

Question: I was told that at least 3 people per territory were flown in to interview. Is this true, given the expense for flights, hotels, etc.

Correct! They fly in 3 of their top candidates per territory! Like previous threads has said , there are many talented reps with over 10 years experience. Some made it thru to RM and some did not. But I must say all ppl I came in contact with were very professional and the inventiv folks were also very professional! Good luck to all

I am currently on my second inVentiv contract and this is how they typically conduct the initial interviews on a new contract. However, I have seen many times that they fly 3 candidates in and the hiring manager is not satisfied with any of them, In that case nobody gets passed on to the next level and they will find new candidates to interview. I was not selected to interview for my current position during the first round (in that case the interviews were held within driving distance for me). None of the first round people panned out, so I was flown to another city along with three other applicants (I never got to meet any of them) and I knew I had the job before I got on the return flight. From the time I got the call from the recruiter until I had the offer was four days. The travel expenses were enormous.

yeah my guy was questioning my moving from a few companies over the years.... i was like are you for real dude... then i look him up and i was like youve got to be kidding me.... this guy????

They could have picked any one of us... any one of us would have done just fine... however from what i hear, they are unnecessarily picky with these contracts...

Can you work 9 hrs a day unsupervised

Talk to a Dr.

Coordinate inservices as required

Sell with basic selling skills or above

Be a team player...

You will do fine... anything else is gravy in my book... and in my opinion they were screening liabilities

Is it worth going through this process knowing you are guaranteed to be out of a job every few years? Or is it better to find a job that pays less but is more secure? I wonder if anyone has done a study oh candidates thats went through the thorough interviews vs having a monkey randomly select resumes? Interview answers are like voicemail "success stories"

Have they ever looked at results of reps hired through their rigorous interview questions vs resumes randomly selected by a monkey? I interviewed in Atlanta on April 10th and made it through to the final interview with the Regional Manager. Has anyone that was there on that day received an offer? I did receive an email from the recruiter last week indicating that the drug had been FDA approved (which I already knew) but I've not heard anything else.
