New GSK Diabetes Contract

A new drug without a launch meeting is not a good way to start things. Well cutting half the reps before they even start isn't a good way to start things too.

I'm sure the motivation is going to be real high on this one.

It's like cattle going down the chute to the slaughter house...just a matter of how long of a walk it will be before you get to the end. (heck'yeah I live out where the corn and soybeans grow for you city slickers)

Gsk told us only 500 reps being hired instead of 1000. May hire the other 500 in January 2015. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. Piss poor planning on our part here at GSK. We are very use to this sort of incompetence!

I've heard this sort of thing multiple times from multiple GSK reps...I guess their management is very unorganized and this sort of thing happens more often than not. THAT is crazy. Wish I'd known about this before I interviewed...and turned down interviews and a JOB with another company.

They kept all of the managers on payroll in anticipation of a January 2015 expansion. Any more news about this?
I was so excited about this project...mostly about the manager I would have had. We all know, in this industry, your manager makes the difference... when you have a great one, you have a great experience...when you have a bad one, you have a bad experience. And, it's SO hard to find a great one...someone who isn't just a yes-man to management.
I would really love to work this contract if wave 2 happens, but that seems doubtful....

I am a displaced rep. When should I expect to see the $3k payout due to being displaced? Has anyone else received it yet? I sent my paperwork back the day after I received the Fed Ex documents to sign and release the money. Please advise if you know anything. Thank you in advance.

It makes sense that we'll get the checks on the 13th as that would have been the first pay day if we had actually started on the 1st.

Serious question: I know you guys just started, but how is it going? What is the tone? I'm wondering if wave 2 is going to happen.

Not that it will make a difference for me...I took a position on the Janssen project. Had no choice, needed a job and had turned down an offer and a few interviews after I cleared the background check for the (gsk) position that wasn't.

I'm just curious, really; I just don't see wave 2 pulling through.

Are the people on the GSK project who started on June 1st going to have a launch meeting or is it going to be home study and a district or regional meeting? I was told no launch meeting.

So GSK rep here. Will you on the Ventiv team be paid on prescriptions of Tanzeum or will you have to take assessments and simulations plus work contact appraisals to determine your incentive comp pay? Just curious. Welcome to the GSK team!
