New Diabetes Sales Specialist positions?

well that's a great attitude to have....I just asked a question. That's all, but people have to put their two sense in and act like jobs are giving out daily....if you have a job be thankful not upset.

I heard from a source it's a two year contract, as per the usual contracts now a days

It makes absolutely NO DIFFERNCE how long they say the contract lasts. They virtually always end sooner and can stop at anytime time. This is a CSO (and a shitty one at that). Don't expect anything but bottom of the barrel everything and to be lied and misled to regularly all the time by incompetent, self serving clowns. That is a reality, deal with it or go somewhere else.

Amylin is a company in flux, but had some brilliant minds who created their products. That being said, a LOT- actually everything- hinges on FDA approval of their Bydureon (sp?) product, and I would imagine that if it does not get approved, all of these job posts will be erased. Go ahead and apply if you need the work, but keep tabs on the FDA approvals site to see what happens

For crying out loud it is going to be a CONTRACT. That means it's shit. Period. We all know that. Only some of us can admit it.

Are you nuts!!!? A shit job! You are so stupid. Here's an opportunity for someone to join a company...earn 70 to 100K...401K...car...benefits...independent salesperson...great products to talk about, and something the individual may need.......it's called a JOB. You arrogant child.

This is not right at all. I have worked on a contract through Quintiles with Eli Lilly selling Humalog and Byetta. Lilly reps do not make 100k base. After bonus yeah some of them do but your basic PCP reps makes 65-75. Amylin actually pays their reps better than most big pharma. My last Amylin counterpart was making 90 base. You getting an interview with NN or Lilly has nothing to do with your being a cso. I have interviewed with both after being a cso. With the industry being so competitive most of the people getting hired no someone internally. Most of these positions, Lilly especially, have already been filled before they are posted. They have to post them publicly for HR reasons.

WRONG. Once a CSO forever screwed.

Why come on here to bitch and complain about cso jobs? It's a job, and one that still pays on average of 75k a year, with a company car, and benefits. Are you that pathetic that you find the need to come on to these sites, and make an attempt at putting done the jobs that others do? Good for you buddy. Sad part is you bitch about CSO jobs, say that once CSO always screwed, but chances are you are unemployed, and have nothing better to do. Go screw yourself, cuz there is nothing wrong making 75k a year, being a CSO. Is it the most prestigious position in Pharma? No, but it's still a great pay check, and an opportunity to move in to other fields, as many CSO's have moved in to med device, and other areas of sales. It's all about making the most of an opportunity, and being a good salesperson.

Answers:
2 year contract with Amylin
Launching Bydureon

DMs already interviewed, hope to start them by 12/19. Waiting on territory maps at this time so no offers made until maps are final.

Rep hiring blitz coming with offer going out in January, start day of 1/30 (pending FDA approval on 1/28). 1 week of home study, 1 week of training, field.

Peace Out!

Just had phone screen from recruiter. Next is regional recruiter. Salary and comm targeted at almost 100K not bad for CSO. As in previous post training only 2 weeks, 1 at home and 1 at corporate.
