MYRIAD GENETICS

This should tell you something... Did the 2 online screens, had 2 phone interviews, the DM said I would absolutely be moving forward and haven't heard a word in 6 weeks! I've sent 4 follow-up emails, called his cell 3 times and nothing. Sounds like al;l the above points are already true; Young, inexperienced DM's, big-pharma tactics and lack of respect for the field force. I can get treated this way (probably better) at GlaxoMerckanPfizerLily any day.

You people are all out of touch. Getting reimbursed for miles is way better than getting a crappy company car. YOu drive about 1500 miles a month and get around $740. enough for a new car payment that will be yours in a few years, all paid for by Myriad. One more thing, Myriad helps to prevent Cancer from ever being realized! People who work here care about that and then care about money next. Mark Capone came over from lilly, but he didn't bring anything over from there. Mark Skolnick, the founder, is a geneticist who co-founded the gene mutations that led to Breast cancer. He's not mormon, just used the mormon data base to find this gene, something I don't think big pharma has enough genius to do itself. Don't think Skolnick will sell this company. Most of the execs are scientists, not businessmen and will work to help this company grow without selling. During training you can wear jeans, that's how laid back this company is. Doctors love us because we aren't pitching anything, we're SAVING lives, not helping genital herpes. For all the haters out there, sorry you work for Big Pharma, but please don't bash a company you know absolutely nothing about. Have fun with those sample drops, won't see that at Myriad. Have fun with dropping pens and notepads, we don't do that, doctors actually want to talk with us. Have fun with a micro-managing manager always on the lookout for his/her own best interest. Myriad managers look out for their people. in short, have fun with a crappy job. take care.

sucks that you use your incompetencies and biases to judge an entire company. Myriad just went through huge reorganizing and probably needs the benefit of the doubt. If I had interviewed "over the phone" and didn't get a callback it meant I sucked and wouldn't bother to bother the managers who are busy hiring people. You go to big pharma and you're just a number, nothing else. You go to Myriad (which sounds like you're not good enough for) and you'll live a fun, free, and enjoyable life by helping to save lives. Take care ass.

Are you smoking crack? The assays you sell (not pitch, right? You're not actually selling anything, right? You're giving it away, right? They don't have to buy it, right?) tell about the treatment someone may or may not benefit from, and you sell NO TREATMENT AT ALL. Explain again how you're saving lives? Do the treatments not already exist? Do you add to their efficacy? Newbie, the answer is no, take it from a tenured oncology person who does in fact sell a treatment to saves lives. Until you can cure someone of cancer or make them live longer and feel better, shut the fuck up about pen-droppers, etc. And by the way, while my products cure people, I cash a check about twice what your puny dick does. But hey, at least you don't have pens, so you have that going for you.

that just shows you how robotic you really are. If you have a mutation, you have a chance to prevent cancer from coming into play. If you have a mutation, you have a 95% chance of developing cancer by the age of 70. yeah, we tell the docs and office how to perform a simple blood test to test for this mutation, which if found will change the medical management of the patient. Oncology reps are the worst because you are making money off of making people more sick. did you know that people live longer when they are not on chemotherapy? try reading "the Politics of Cancer" by a leading oncologist, Dr. Epstein, and then spin it somehow that the way we treat cancer is helping anyone. You don't make that much more money than I do, don't fantasize. You probably make more money, but not twice as much. Bonus potential here is greater than any pharma company can offer with top reps earning $120k in bonus alone. It might not compare to your inflated salary, so yeah, you have a smaller penis than I do so tell me how important you are by the size of your wallet. As to your "don't these treatments already exist" comment. They do, but if the doctor doesn't know about the increased risk, it will be too late for advanced screening. How will the doctor know to increase surveillance if they show no signs? also, you don't treat the patient, the doctor does. He already knows about your pathetic drug that kills people and wouldn't care if you were telling him or he was learning about it at a conference. You are worthless. but, at least you have a lot of money. ass

Just contacted by this company, what a joke. Good luck finding people to fill positions.

Didn't make the cut huh? (that's the joke) what's the matter can't think outside the 3 facts/benefits you get from a myopic product manager and the sample shelf boogie that keeps you convinced you are an on the edge 'healthcare' professional?

Funny about all the 'selling the company' predictions that are now over a year old on this thread ... apparently all you PCP pharma reps never learned to read a PNL or analyst statement on a corporation ... which doesn't surprise me from that crowd

Anonymous;1721020And by the way said:
Hmmm with over 8 years experience in Oncology Pharma ... I wonder what miracle company you must work for ???? this statement is pure ignorance.

Any Med Onc out there who isn't burning incense and muttering voodoo chants will still tell you that the only sure way to cure someone with cancer is through early detection and screening and likely surgery with or without adjuvant therapies.

With proper genetic screening patients with the increased risk of hereditary cancers (not all cancer patients) have treatment options that can actually prevent their secondary cancers from developing or cancer from developing in non-affected family members.

In ALL my years of selling cytotoxic agents the word 'cure' was never used by an ethical rep and no med onc worth his weight would ever believe you as a rep telling them you are 'curing' cancer.

You are obviously a self obsessed moron who either believed some DM bullshit you were fed about your product or came up with your novel primary caresque 'cure - close' about your miracle product on your own.

Gotta tell ya it is refreshing to be out of the short sighted self important world of pharma ... once you stop drinking the koolaid you have a whole different perspective on healthcare sales.

I've been in the field long enough that most of my docs are personal friends (and at an institution of notable reputation) if you knew what they really thought of you as a pharma rep you'd probably go home and shoot yourself or maybe not since the size of your paycheck apparently helps you overcompensate for your personal shortcomings

I don't know about the manager, but the rep in Long Island is a COMPLETE BIMBO!! If Myriad hired her, I'd imagine any idiot could get an offer from this company!

we get it ... you don't like the rep in LI maybe you should go back to internet dating that way you won't take the rejections so hard and all you have to do is sit around in front of your computer in your underwear (which you're likely already doing)
