MS Panel Offers

I don't believe you.

I think many are lying.

I heard Genentech pays well!!

Yes, GNE does pay well because it hires good reps that have been in the industry for a while. You can expects about a 5% bump in salary if you are an external candidate but in top of that, our benefits and culture are excellent! $35K bonus at plan and an environment where you are trusted to do your job and not micromanaged. We also are awarded stock options and an excellent retirement plan. Not to mention 5 weeks of vacation.

What more could you want?

I think most top reps get a 4-5% merit increase every year without hopping companies. Is a top performing rep going to leave a good job for a 5% bump, especially when the product doesn't have FDA approval yet? Doubtful, unless they hate their job/mngr/company. Annual target bonus at my current company is more than $35K. 5 weeks vacation is not what GNE is offering new hires; 18 days is what they are offering, which is also less than what my current company provides. GNE retirement plan is good but not as good as at my current company. They aren't a slam drunk like they think they are. Best thing they have to offer that I've never heard about from another pharma company is 6 week sabatical after 6 years ~ and what sounds like is going to be a blockbuster drug. However, they shouldn't think they're going to steal top talent from other companies without offering more than a 5% bump. The first question that was asked of candidates was how much they needed to leave their current jobs. If they didn't intend to offer something in the ballpark of that figure, they shouldn't have wasted ppl's time.

So it sounds like many first choice candidates have received at least a verbal offer. How long are they giving you to accept or decline? I must be second choice bc I did not receive verbal or any contact from P1 other than saying I was still in the running.

That simply isn't true! No verbal offers went out to external candidates yet. Let me repeat NO offers have been given to any external candidates yet. PERIOD. Don't allow yourself to be drawn into these lies. Yes, some internal candidate have been given an unofficial call, but even then only some. So, if you are an external candidate, you are still in this, especially if you didn't receive a call saying you weren't chosen.

This is accurate. Get a good nights sleep and hopefully you will get a great offer tomorrow.

If you did not get a job at Genentech and your current company gives you a referral bonus consider Novartis reps. You will probably lose at least a few people from your region and many Novartis reps are looking for any way out so ask your Neurologists who the Novartis rep is and make some referral money.

Good try at promoting yourself. No MS company wants novartis reps.
