MERCK CONTRACT AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you do not coordinate with merck reps/ you have your own room at training/ and yes training is SUPER hard there is a ton of info. and you must get a 90 or better/ you can not retake more than 3 tests period or you are out. /
check the list see who gets hired and get a study buddy.

You get electronic sigs...but there is no micromanaging. You keep samples for avelox (1dose), asmanex (1 dose), Nasonex (1 dose) and Maxlt (very few samples). You can get a storage room and they reimburse $75 for cell/internet. You also get an aircard which is nice.
It has been a fabulous job so far. I started in Sept. Very low pressure and no admin work at all except doing expense report every 2 weeks which is very easy. You do get a laptop too.

Do you get health and dental insurance, what kind? How about option of company car?
Bonus paid how often and how high?

Why are the new hires only until the end of 2012. That' s weird, why bother taking the job for a year...maybe a roll to employee?

Have interview next week. Started grad school in summer while getting unemployment from another CSO layoff (my 7th in pharma). Wondering if I can manage all the homestudy and do classwork at the same time.
Don't really HAVE to work right now. Sold 2 of the products previously. Thoughts? Grad school is a must---I think the future is very iffy in pharma and I need options.

I read you are capped at 1150 hrs a year and paid 27.50 =About 31-32k a year. Correct? I read bonus are 8k year. Maybe 40k at best all together. is everyone making $2k each quarter in bonuses? I need a realistic bonus figure of what most reps are pulling in.

How many calls in a day or week are you expected to make? Are you working 3 full field days as expectation?

For someone coming from a FT job....I get sick at this. No way in hell I could pay even 1/4 of my bills on this. Will leave the entire field if this is it.

It really is a no stress ups job. If you can survive on the hourly rate, $0.56 a mile, $75 a month cell and bonus that varies with unrealistic goals against a generic, then this job is for you. But you have to be willing to wear your car down and learn to budget on @ $1100 every two weeks. Oh yeah no health benefits. This position is truly for the somewhat stay at home mom that is very busy with the income as a "bonus" or used until something else comes along. Good luck!

The above poster meant with Bonus pay out which is different there are 5 pay out scales depending on where your numbers fall I made about 40,000 with bonus... yes part time.

Ill be starting soon and from what I understand I'll use 160 hrs before I get in field. That leaves 992 left. The part I'm not clear on -are those hours until calendar year ends vs how many hours left to use over your 1st employment year?

42K includes the bonus
some managers ask for three days - 24 hours, other managers are more flexible - 24 hours may be spread out over four or even five days
car mileage is not taxed and is not included in the 42K - depending on territory, it can be as little as 250 per month, or as much as 600 per month
again, depending on size of territory and where you live - you may only drive 35 miles per day - some reps I know can drive 150+ miles per day

WOW! I didn't realize that there no health benefits. I live in the South and there are no openings where I live. Do you guys know if another expansion or new contract is in the works that would have part time opportunities?
