I heard contract was to go through Dec 2013. Can anyone confirm this. It makes a difference when I accept the job. A one year vs 2 year.

No paid vacation, sick days. No health insurance. Training is at a hotel not at hq. About 2 district meetings per year only 1 overnight hotel stay each time.

When you went to the hotel for training, how long were you there? How was the training rolled out, and what was it like? Thanks for your response!

Training was about 2 weeks at home then about 3 days at a hotel. The hotel training was cake not even that much detailing like at other companies.

just be aware that Merck can end the contract if they decide that the ROI is not there

Big pharma has been doing this more frequently of late

They pay the Early Termination assessment and go on their way.

I was told by a recruiter that the contract was extended to go until the end of 2013 and maybe beyond..those were exact words. I would like to know the real answer..managers anyone?????????

Can someone please tell me if the Merck contract uses paper or electronic signatures and also are your samples direct shipped or do you keep samples for all 5 products? How many different dosages are there for all of these drugs? Do they allow expenses for storage like full time? Any cell/broadband reimbursement? How about laptops? Sorry so many questions but never worked flex before.

You get electronic sigs...but there is no micromanaging. You keep samples for avelox (1dose), asmanex (1 dose), Nasonex (1 dose) and Maxlt (very few samples). You can get a storage room and they reimburse $75 for cell/internet. You also get an aircard which is nice.
It has been a fabulous job so far. I started in Sept. Very low pressure and no admin work at all except doing expense report every 2 weeks which is very easy. You do get a laptop too.

The positions that they are hiring for now, is an expansion of the original contract. The original contract reps are contracted through 2013. The expansion reps (hiring now) are only contracted through December 2012.

How are the Merck reps to work with? How difficult was homestudy (5 products--YIKES!)? Roomates at training and POA's?
