MedImmune to Buy Amgen Colorado Facility?

Seriously ?? If you are not looking for a job then you are an idiot. Over the past decade MedImmune has NO NEW DRUGS. Let's try that again, over the past 10 years NO NEW DRUGS.

So what does this mean... the entire Colorado facility is duplicative of already existing MedImmune facilities... Yes the entire capabilities, workforce, physical plant, is a redundant asset.

Have you noticed the AZ going out of business fire sale ? This intermediate deal is the prelude to a downsizing to eliminate redundancies.

People WILL be fired, Physical locations WILL be closed.

Downsizing, RIF'd, are the words of the day. If you are not looking for a job, you don't care about your future.

Interesting that JL left a VP position at another company to take a Director position at MedImmune. Strange timing considering that the other company is getting ready to host a PAI.

It's awful here.
I have to agree. They low ball your pay then pile on an enormous (unrealistic) work load. The lab project is a joke and I assume the process work will follow suit. There is no communication between groups and each group has their own schedule and is doing their own thing. There are no safety programs in place but they preach daily about being safe. There is no lunch/break room, people are sitting on each other's laps and you have to stand in line to take a cr*p in a portable sh*tter that has no ventilation. (It has country music playing in it though so that makes it all better) lol
I have to question if anyone from the site leadership team has any experience starting up a facility.

The pay is low relative to work load. I don't think that people coming on board realize how much LESS the pay is than Amgen compared to how much MORE work there is. They aren't having trouble recruiting now though because it is new, exciting, and has a level of comfort for all of the ex-Amgen people. They could improve upon working conditions by renting back ac91 and ac92 but they don't seem inclined to do so. But nearly everyone now is sharing a cube, and there is still more hiring to come next year.

The sr managers all make over 200K a year. Too bad the rest of you don't. I'll take all the money I can get now. If the Novartis acquisition goes through, the site will be closed immediately. Did you think Chris M. was here by accident.

Chris M. works for AstraZenneca...maybe that is why he is there. lol

AZ-wise, not many/money in the short term. Amgen has the right to manufacture in the facility in the near future if needed. If Amgen goes back into EPO manufacturing, who knows how many people they will have to hire/rehire.

Interesting how the sign still says Amgen. The Lake Centre sign was changed almost the same day as the announcement of its sale.
