MedImmune to Buy Amgen Colorado Facility?

Rumor from the ex-Amgen side is that MedImmune is buying the old Amgen, Colorado, Lake Centre (Boulder) facility for pennies on the dollar.

From someone who worked there, the cell culture suite is beautiful.

Sadly they have already begun to hire some of the "POISONOUS" people from Amgen such as MB as the Quality Systems manager. What a shame that they didn't see through the facade to the rotten, vengeful core of this person. UGH!!

Medimmune Quality Systems is a joke. AZ has to struggle with it too. Some great people at corporate but most are snakes. Very political. Just stay low and kiss ass and you will be fine. Poor and not genuine leadership at corporate. Unfortunately, it seems that thus person will fit in well with the leaders.

Seems like they are hiring mostly ex-Amgen people who are the faves of the hiring managers. It'll be the same book, different cover. They talk about hiring diverse staff, but that seems like lip service. Too bad.

Exactly. At the job fair they sated "they would not solely be hiring back Amgen folks" but that is exactly what they are doing. PB (from Amgen) in HR has her favorites. MB in QA could not have been a more detrimental choice as she is known for building walls and is also the queen of nasty gossip.

PB is one the worst people. Terrible. Sexist and mean as a snake. Good luck with her in the HR position. They already have some nasty people on board at Lake Centre. I will not be transferring with the company back to Colorado. The drug will not be manufactured for that long anyway so everyone will be back on the street shortly looking for jobs. Have fun.

Do not come to this facility. I already regret it and it is going to get worse. This is Amgen all over again.

Despite what everyone at AZ/MI said, clearly there was an agreement to take back recently laid off Amgenites as well as current ones looking to get back stateside. From my personal experience, and from what I have heard, the entire interview process is one big clusterf*ck where you are actually sitting in the same room waiting with your competition. Also the HR "head" is PB so if she disliked you at Amgen you are out of luck. Thanks but no thanks.

Still hearing that the drug might not move forward at the same speed as is being told. Amgen sold the plant for very little so AZ could walk away from it without much of a thought.
