Massive Ethicon layoffs on Monday

Typical JNJ. One day you feel like this place is the greatest, the next they are blowing people out. Sorry for the folks who lost jobs. This place is a sham, and its all about the name JNJ and stock price.

That's not true...We here at JnJ live by the Credo. Once a year we even get to take a survey about how much the credo means to us...

So if 270 got emails what about the other 80 in the sales force?
 




That's because the turnover rate at EWHU has been 70% over last 3 years. nobody knows anybody any more.

suture will begin sending out Outlook correspondence tomorrow as the email stated. EWHU just got an early jump on it. that is how cold they are here...thank you MH for not having a heart and sending out that request prior to the weekend. People had to sit around all weekend long and just have their stomachs ripped out

JnJ severance for pharma was 2 weeks for every year of service. I'd be shocked if it were one month per year.

Seriously-who sends out an email on a Friday night saying to be in a "quiet place" for a call Monday morning. Then sends out a request for an entire field call on Monday afternoon?? Couldn't they have spared EP reps anxiety levels through the weekend and just sent that email out Monday morning??
This makes no sense!!!!

We know EWHU is having calls today but what does this have to do with EP? Why the dreadful email on Friday night? Scare tactics are working and until 430 I will remain in a "quiet place"
 




I do not hear anything that indicates mass Ethicon suture- mesh layoffs. At Endo, when they had some restructuring, I have heard they called affected reps earlier than the afternoon conf call for a private discussion. If the phone rings from a strange number, remain in your quiet place and do not answer.

From very good sources, all indications are that the suture-mesh DMs do not know much. It makes no sense to do large layoffs without much involvement from field management. I expect an update on Mentor, EWHU, the hiring freeze (and the new hires that were let go in training), severe cuts in budget for the rest of the year. There will be a review of business plan with strong direction to finish the year on track. There may also be some territories that are open not filled and divided with existing territories.

All bets are off, but that is a scenario that could play out.
