Madrigal Pharmaceuticals

Sounds like someone that didn't get hired. Just about every rep at Horizon is making 180k+ in base and pulling in over 20k a quarter as a bonus. 16k is the plan. My wife works there. They are paid really really well. Not sure how long it will last under Amgen. Reps that can't sell get exposed and pushed out. That is true. She has been there 4 years, and her w2 for 3 of them has been over 375k. She is a rep, not a manager. These are facts I've seen with my own eyes. And honestly, I can't believe how much they pay them.

So a couple of things. I was offered a job at Horizon and turned it down because senior leadership seemed “dirty.” Number two, I admit a select few make insane money there. However the people I’ve interviewed from Horizon are not clocking the checks your wife made. BTW, good for her and you! I’m not saying it doesn’t happen. But the number of people there making that kind of money is minuscule. Third, Horizon had a specialty pharmacy scheme in place with Linden just like Valeant had with Philador. Look it up. Valeant people went to jail. Horizon pulled out just in time before the OIG caught up with their scheme on Duexis. The fact Amgen bought the POS Ponzi scheme of a company is a head scratcher. One thing is for sure, those big bonuses are gonna dry up like 60 year old cooch.

Now, having said all that, Madrigal is a great opportunity. The product, leadership and resources are great. I’m excited to be here. If the money isn’t right for you, don’t jump in. It’s that simple.

Ever hear the term “too good to be true?” What did your wife sacrifice, how did she compromise her morals, in order to sell the overpriced, rebranded generic junk Horizon pumps out? Horizon is bottom of the barrel.

I'm here. Love it here. I 100% agree it's a great opportunity for me. But from what I've seen firsthand and heard, Horizon are the highest paid reps in the industry. Will it last? Probably not but I've benefited the last 4 years by her paychecks. And it's definitely not just a few reps- she sells Tepezza, and the other big product they have is in gout- she says both of those sales forces make bank. She said years ago things might have been different when they sold something that was a rebranded generic. Those products (Tepezza and the gout one) aren't. Realistically, you haven't interviewed anyone from the rare disease products because they wouldn't be applying here as we don't pay enough and do not have the same call points. Why the person above was looking at a TLL spot only they know. Doesn't make sense to me.

She hasn't sacrificed anything. She spends probably equal time at Pilates as in her territory. If I'm being honest, I'm a little jealous as she definitely isn't "better than me" but makes double. Rare disease is just a little different and pays way better. It's hard to get into.

Beware of your medical VP SD -
He ruined our medical affairs team at Intercept in every aspect
I feel bad for your medical team
I hear same thing happened when he was at Merck - full. on asshole
Thinks he is so smart but all he does is talk talk talk -
He is really dumb a bad leader and person
Nothing will get done - Good luck with that asshole and his Julius Caesar haircut
Don't expect medical to help you at all with him in charge
As a former Intercept person we want you to be successful in NASH but
your launch will be f'ed by medical and will lag until commercial can get traction

not sacrifices anything? Horizon is the shadiest place that I’ve ever worked. CODs? Hi, here’s a buttload of money for a phone call. And, no, it will not last. Amgen will not give that kind of budget for IC when the transition is complete. Also, it’s very much feast or famine there. When I was there, there was not a single quarter where at least 50% of the salesforce made goal. Only the top 5 people in the country consistently made the huge bonuses…and if you compare the dollars spent on the speakers in a territory to the sales numbers, you will see a damn strong correlation. Also, a base of $180+ in rare disease is pretty standard now. Even big pharma rare disease will pay over $200k base. The only think that makes Horizon special are the huge bonuses and that’s only for a select few.

What does any of this have to do with Madrigal?

The transaction is complete. Bonus payouts actually increased for 2024. Of course those who do the most programs are typically the most successful- because they work. You sound like a bitter rep who couldn't make it there.

Nothing but Big Pharma here. May look like a start up…. It’s not. Sanofi, Sanofi and God help us Salix managers. Can’t even get the easy stuff right. Hire more, post more jobs but can’t figure shit out for the people that are already here.

Ha the one rep talking about Horizon being shady...and you have Salix managers? We used to pay people $250 to do a "phone call" after I took them all out to dinner @ $185 per person and never once showed a slide. The phone call was a text that said no questions. All true and I won multiple president clubs. 20k a quarter back in those days if you ended #1...forced ranked.

Some good reps back in those days. But none of the managers good.

Name one successful launch Sanofi leaders have orchestrated in the past two decades. go….

And you sound like a delusional idiot. Bonus payouts absolutely did not increase and the integration is far from done, fool. Barely started . Big bonuses will be done soon.
