Lots of postings up for statin/cardiovascular jobs...any details?

Ok getting really nervous here....still no word and I interviewed last Wed. I would really like to know one way or another. One good thing is a couple of other reps that interviewed also havent heard yet either! No other background request info either other than the packet emailed so not sure what that means!

What State are you in? I am in Alabama and am in the same boat.

Any offers in Southern California yet? Interviewed last Wednesday, did online application, employment verification paperwork last Thursday. Thought would hear today, now looks like next week? No references or past employers contacted yet.

Georgia anyone? Manager said we would hear by today. Verififications called yesterday for me to sign a release so I know my background check was done however no offer as of date so I guess I am out. Bummer.

I wouldn't worry just yet....I understand what you are going through on that though. I also interviewed last Wed. and same deal with everything else and man I was worried until I got a call from a reference I listed today...who was my former boss and said they contacted him for reference and employment verification. I'm not even sure if that means anything or not or if what everyone is saying is true and that we are all getting backgrounds done but I haven't heard for any job offers yet so until I get that call I'm worried as well. Oh and the manager I interviewed with said his interviews were wrapping up late Friday night. I do know also that other interviewees haven't heard either in the state. Were Southeast btw...not sure how everything is in your area but I felt good about my interview but you never know.

Not necessarily. If your background check was completed and you passed, the hiring manager likely has not had time to notify you with an offer.

Ok I have a question here...how is it that the managers are supposedly calling people last week with offers when backgrounds were in fact not complete and wouldn't Publicis themselves handle any negotiations for jobs? They aren't going to give managers that were just hired themselves the go ahead to offer whatever they want whenever they want. Plus with a position like this where it is in fact a "Contract Position" they are going to handle all negotiations themselves and have that in writing before anything. I was emailed about my background info over a week before my interview and I can say that my references called today to let me know they were contacted yesterday for referals. I do not believe they are performing background checks on everyone interviewed if that is the case mine would have been conducted well before my interview as I was interviewed on Wed. last week and my packet was emailed and returned on Sunday of the week before that...10 days prior. I feel that interviews were wrapped up in some areas on Friday of last week, and I know some were not until this week, and managers were given time to put together who they felt was best suited and turned that info in for backgrounds to be conducted. Once that has finished up and their cleared then Publicis will contact for drug screenings and then offers. You have to think that they will also have to pass a drug screen as well before offered a position. They cannot offord to take chances on hiring someone who either didn't get through the background screening or flunked a drug screen and then be back to square one with a deadline like they are facing. This is just my opinion but it does make sense!! I wanted to share only to help some folks out that are sweating bullets as we all are wanting a job and understandably so!! Goodluck everyone!!

1. Please. Try paragraph breaks...they're your friend!
2. Every job I've ever had made me do the drug screen after making the offer...even one that gave me the offer 4 days before home study started.

I don't think that matters...

I agree.

I think when the offers were made depends on the hiring manager mostly and the particular territory. Certain territories may have had more candidates that were interviewed. Obviously, your employment is contingent upon you passing your background check and drug screen.

The Low Down:

My background; Female in my 40s’… over 15 years Big Pharma experience, (Merck, GSK, Pfizer- 10 plus years), good reputation, I know the business inside and out, was downsized at both GSK and Pfizer, so now unemployed…

Publicis recruiter was great – nice but to the point, wanted bottom-line, i.e.: experience, with what companies, what products, accomplishments, etc… very real and genuine. Informed me at 3 people would be interviewed per position.

The DM seemed nice – laid back, admitted she already has hired two of her friends that she had worked with in the past because “they are good reps and nice people”… straight up told me, 50-60K .19 cents/mile, $500 car allowance… offers need to be made by this Friday, Sept. 9th. Work directly for Publicis DM, no AZ managers, no dinner programs, full medical, dental, vision. $700 per month for breakfast/lunches. $60 per month office supplies, they pay for tolls and parking (I think she mentioned either $75 or up to $100 per month). Made me sell popcorn, it was fun and in a very relaxed atmosphere. All in all a decent package but not what I would expect with what I bring to the table. However, the job market is absolutely awful, like never before awful. So, all in all, it is a very solid opportunity for 12 months. I would take the offer if one should be given. This could be a good “first step” to get back in the work force. I have received unemployment for about 10 months and it is depressing.

Interesting note, on the way to my interview, verifications called me and wanted me to sign a release that a former employer wanted. They emailed me a release-form, I signed and faxed it back to them. So, as I was literally on my way to the interview, when I got a call looking into my back ground before they even interviewed me. So, I know for a fact they are working backgrounds without having even interviewed all candidates. They are moving fast. Interviewed last week, it went very well… I feel I should get an offer but as of yet, I have not been called. There are a lot of good candidates and persons going for these positions. In all fairness, the DM said I would get a call by Friday either from her or the recruiter informing me of their decision as she still had to do interviews this week. Good luck to all and I think they might have another contract coming up. So, even if an offer is not extended but you did a good job and built even a little rapport, it is a good lead for the next contract.

there will be sampling for this position...what is not clear right now is the level of interaction you will have with doc....what will training be like?

Training will be hell, and those that don't regurgitate verbateum, their role play WILL be sent home!It is like boot camp, run by trainers who have very little sales experience, but college degrees out the ass! Long on theory, short on practicality! Deal with it!
