Layoffs Due To Vaccine On Hold

What are you talking about?
He’s talking about the pause in the vaccine in parts of the world, damn don’t you know what’s going on with your own company!!!! But he failed to mention that the US monitors are now reviewing the data from the US vaccine trial and should have emergency authorization, by April.

Um, the government paid for our vaccine trials and research? Not us? They paid for us to try to figure it out at no penalty to us if we couldn’t. So it’s not like we list R&D money...They took government funds to do the best they could as quickly as they could. This is not like when we think we’re getting an approval after putting billions in it and then FDA requests more info. This was us working on a govt grant to save people in an emergency pandemic. Why would there be layoffs??? Get a clue and get back to work instead of stirring the pot!!

Yeah but in the words of the great. Chicagoan Mr. Rahm Emmanuel, never let a good crisis go to waste. AZ can use their ineptitude as an excuse for more layoffs. Do you really trust Rudd? The man has sociopath written all over him

When do we all go back to work? I mean we’re all working but some are still virtual since March 2020 in the sales organization and have no interest in getting the vaccine. Let’s get dressed and back into the field. Or let’s have another round of lazy offs

Vaccine development costs and bad press are not the only issues of concern to AZ. The elephant in the room is AZ’s $39 billion Alexion buy-out to complete 3rd quarter this year. In anticipation of this deal and the huge cost involved, AZ was planning more job cuts. Alexion’s drugs for rare diseases are very expensive and under this new administration this buy-out is being looked at more closely by the FTC’s antitrust mavens. If this deal does not go through, it may be a good thing for sales reps (less job cuts) but not so good for upper management looking for reasons to cut costs.
