Layoff Rumors?

Both specialty and cardiology are expected growth areas over the next 5 years. It's primary care docs that have virtually no control over what they write anymore. Doh!

you do realize those same specialty drs are under the same ACO systems that virtually have all the control over what they write. What is coming out soon in cardiology? nothing. look what that drug has been through. Thats the first therapeutic area they would consolidate. Respiratory and diabetes has seen multiple new product launches, wonder where the companies main focus will be cough respiratory cough diabetes cough cough. haha. What is likely - they merge spec and primary care or spec and hospital. company needs less people and that makes sense. we are one of the last companies that has spec and primary care separate, its just stupid.

Spec - treatment presentations

PC - which formulary plan our drug is on

Yeah, they really should make Spec & PC the same since they do the same. <rolls eyes>

This is what it has come to, once again. PC and spec (and INSPEC) at each other's throats, suspecting their motives, throwing accusations about who does and doesn't work, etc. This is what the leadership of PF and that crazy-eyed incoherent bitch KD have wrought. They have brought this company to its knees. After the big 2009 layoffs, when Bob Johnson stated "Germany made us cut deeper than we wanted because they only wanted to do this once and never again," the folks who assumed control rolled contract sales into full time jobs, they took a novel anti-coagulant and utterly trashed it with terrible clinical studies that made Pradaxa a laughingstock with HCPs, allowed GSK (of all godforsaken companies) to beat us to the punch with the first LABA/LAMA combo....The list goes on and on. And now we have Go To Market, a new way of "doing business" to "ensure our place in the healthcare market," one meaningless corporate buzzword after another, all sound and fury signifying nothing. And because of all that bullshit, a lot of very good people, hard workers, good salespeople, good people, period, are going to lose their jobs. It's indefensible. This is the culture they created. But hey, PF says "we'll treat our employees with respect." Sure. And piss runs uphill. And you're a stand-up guy, PF.

All this makes me miss the days of Bob Johnson and Marty Carroll (not a fan, but their leadership is starting to show they knew what they were doing more than anyone that has come since, although I do have high hopes for KD, she has not been here long enough to for us to determine her legacy yet). Too bad BJ's words apparently were not prophetic.

Also, there is a ppt slide deck on the intranet that specifically states the following:
* Merger of pc/spec
* smaller and realigning of footprints
* minimize ability of field sales to add additional targets to call plan

There is a lot more that affects multiple depts. and field sales, but I think you can see where this is going. This is called "corporate transparency" where employees have to do their own searches to figure what the hell is going on. :/

If you do not believe me, do a search on MyBI, the ppt presentation will come up under multiple search terms.

Very well said.

100% accurate and 100% on point.

You forgot to add all of the endless layers of team, people with the exact same resources trying to get in front of the exact same customers, attempting to justify their jobs: HSE, HEOR, CSC, SAE etc. My HSE has the exact same branded information, and the doctors don't care if you have a higher degree, unless you're an MSL. This is what went wrong!

This is pretty true :\ Dr.s time is already incredibly short, they need less interactions....not more. All the layers of people trying to see them only makes it harder for everyone else, and at the same time, makes the value of the call that much less.

Unfortunately, it's true. They don't want more people industry, from the same company with different confusing titles that only we understand. You spend half explaining our roles and structure. They don't care. They're treating patients, not focusing on how many people and resources we have. Unfortunately, it has come to this. We have to cut. Other companies have done the same. Too many people trying to do the same job. Or at least getting paid for trying or not working at all. Sorry, it's time to cut the fat. It's business.

And HOW did this company get fat? Did it just mysteriously happen overnight, as if by legerdemain? No. The schmucks in charge ALLOWED it to happen. THEY put the endless layers in between the district manager level and the VP. THEY created the insane alphabet soup of CSC, SAE, HSE, all of which makes the inner circle a bunch of ASOLs. Fuck those guys. FUCK 'EM. When that brainless bitch KP gives you that fake sincere look with her demented eyes and says "I know change is unsettling." And when she writes "this will impact us all." Do you really think it will affect her? Or PF who says "all employees will be treated with respect," do you think this will touch him? They are the ones negotiating these deals with the insurance companies, but somehow it is sales' fault that the profit margin has shrunk. Bottom line: THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US. All the products have been launched. Now they are going to launch us.

The alphabet soup killed us all. Now, they're all going away. It has to be done. Hse, csc, sae, etc. Stupid fucking layers of people selling the same fucking resources and motivational interviewing. Seriously fucked up! Sad, fat, chubby layers that bloated the company and diluted responsibility and sales. Btw, who's brilliant idea was it add Hse team? Or, make csc more and more branded. We used to have to be a separate appt or room because they were all non branded, then all of sudden they're basically sales people too. And, hell, let's give them cardiology. Wait. Let's give them hospitals, too and force everyone else to collaborate. Let's spend all of our time collaborating with each other and having meetings about collaboration. Let's add more people! And other teams. Just another sales force fighting for time or appts with the exact same fucking resources. And, who's idea was it to create sae expansion, and assign them accounts, instead of payers. My sae is on conference calls, her personal calls and personal appts, not customer calls. She doesn't even work. Pathetic waste. Wait. Let's also give them absolutely no oversight or metrics or goals either. I know, let's all stay home and get paid. Wait. Someone is supposed to see the customers. Let's schedule appts to sell them us, not our products. Fucking waste.

Agree 100%

Yes, I agree, as well! It's so sad that this had led to this. When, do this mess start? 3, maybe 4 years ago. Other companies have done the same thing, added multiple overlapping teams doing the same thing, then the laid all these people off. Customers don't want to see 10 different people.

Whoever calls on the customer has to engage in a deep, rich clinical conversation as that's what the customers want - they don't want straight messaging. This is reflected in surveys such as "What physicians want", so if BI can get to doing that more consistently-that would be a very positive move for the company and prospects of long term sales.
