Lay-offs start December 1st - You heard it here first!

I love the way you scumbag Takeda reps get so ethical when Actos gets hit hard with bullshit data. The reps in my area have been spreading lies and rumors about Avandia . We will have a job if Avandia gets pulled, you half ass Takeda reps will not. The industry knows how poorly you are trained and how unehtical you promote your products. Good luck finding a job loser.

For you newer "experienced" reps and managers who came from other companies, the previous poster is very correct in her thoughts about Takeda not having a good reputation in the industry and basically a "1 hit wonder" with your drug, Actos.

I hope you did not ruin your career by coming to this company.

I work for neither GSK, Novartis, Amylin nor Novo Nordisck and just happened to see this huge thread on your company board and was interested enough to read all the stuff written (even the links) and I am rather taken aback at what appears to be a big scandal in the makings. Someone mentioned a reference to the Vioxx thing at Merck and I don't think that is too far fetched.

Why isn't Eli Lilly still co-promoting this drug with you? (exposure to loss of $$$$)

Do many of you believe that all that stuff that is written above made-up?

If you did lose Actos (pretend for a moment), what would Takeda do?

QUOTE]

Lilly is no longer co-promoting this drug because there was a timeline on their contract with Takeda. The co-promotion stopped exactly when it was supposed to based on the contractual obligations that were agreed upon YEARS ago.

And why is there no mention of the differences between (1) the CHF cardio problems that are relevant to the whole class (label change) and (2) the cardio problems related to ischemic events that ONLY are tied to Avandia? There is a reason that Actos was not asked to participate in advisory board concerning Avandia and the increased risk of ischemic events.

My god - there has been an obvious difference in the lipid profiles of the two drugs since they were launched. This is nothing new. Avandia + FDA advisory commitee = increase in ischemic events. Regardless of whether it is still on the market or not almost all panel members agreed there was an INCREASE with Avandia. Not Actos. CHF is a completely different issue.

This is officially the 3,000 view !!!

------------------------------------------------------

Note to the previous poster about the Eli Lilly contract ending "just when it was supposed to"...One question for you (and I am going to try and be very nice in asking this one), Are You Fucking Out of Your Mind???

Contracts get extended everytime there is a successful drug that is bringing in bank. It is a no brainer! Do you honest to God think for one second that a company as robust as Eli Lilly would not have wanted to extend their co-promotion with Takeda? Remember this was way before any expansion by Takeda and Takeda needed all the man and woman power they could muster to compete with that behemoth GSK sales force pushing the day lights out of Avandia. Think. Think. Think.

They saw the clinical data and had heard the rumors about the hidden data that was not shown to the FDA review committee. They hedged their bets and ran for the hills.

This will be a landmark lawsuit that will rival the one that Parke-Davis and Sankyo had to deal with in Rezulin.

Stop kidding yourself...And have a nice day (stop at your local Starbucks and have a latte on me)

Just out of curiosity what company do you work for? No hidden agenda, just want to know.

Or maybe the expansion was already in future plans and the company was thinking ahead that they no longer needed Lilly. I believe the contract had a stipulation about how many Actos details Lilly needed to provide. When you are paying a company to promote your drug and they are throwing it in THIRD position behind a launch (Cialis) and insulin - who had new competitors in the marketplace - do you really think Takeda was getting their worth out of the product mention (if that even happened) that Lilly reps were providing?

Oh, and don't forget that at the time Lilly thought they had the first DPP-4 coming, a drug that treated diabetic neuropathy and inhalable insulin. It would have been a conflict of interest for Lilly to continue to promote Actos. No one expected those drugs to not make it to market.

So....lay-offs are going to start on SATURDAY December 1st dumb-ass...you're already blowing smoke with that statement! You have 39 DAYS to prove yourself legit....tick-tock time's running out dip-shit...

the only lay-offs coming are the views to this thread after Dec.1. personally i can't wait...this whole thing is without merit and reminds me of a high school prank. get a life.

I'll give you three guesses and if you are correct, I will tell you:

1. __Up Your Momma's Ass______________________

2. __Teachin ya alls little sis a thing or 2__________

3. __Inside Headquarters at Lincolnshire in the Strategic Planning and Development Depts. acting as Lead Project Director______________

Now go ahead and tell me that Lincolnshire is not our address anymore schoolboy! We have plenty of Operational Departments over there for a reason and it's a good secret!

Remember what they always taught you in girls and boys scouts, Always be Prepared (for that rainy day).

This might be a high shool prank, and you are probably right. But does it hurt to look?

Not if you are on Match.com according to Dr. Phil :)

Whatever. This may spark an interest and it may not, like I said "whatever":

FDA wants big warning on Glaxo diabetes drug: report

Wed Oct 24, 2007 3:17am EDT

Food and Drug Administration officials are pushing for a "black box" warning on GlaxoSmithKline Plc's hard-hit diabetes drug Avandia, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.

The warning would be a further blow to the top-selling diabetes drug, which came under pressure last May when a U.S. analysis linked Avandia to a 43 percent higher risk of heart attack in patients.

Avandia already has strong warning advising of the risk of a different side effect, heart failure, the paper said. But a similar warning for the risks of heart attack would be more serious, it said.

The European Medicines Agency last week recommended a tighter label for Avandia, but said the benefits outweighed the risks of the drug and a similar one called Actos, made by Takeda Pharmaceutical Co..

It sure does seem like the FDA is pairing the two together almost at every juncture now.

Class Effect??? Hmmmm...

Hey DUMB ASS read the whole freaking article. Both drugs ALREADY have a black box for CHF. ONLY AVANDIA IS GETTING THE BLACK BOX FOR HEART ATTACKS! Why can't you GSK assholes separate the two issues? This is exactly why your market share is decreasing so rapidly - you can't even admit it when it is in black and white in the form of a PI.

Hey DUMB ASS.....................................................ONLY AVANDIA IS GETTING THE BLACK BOX FOR HEART ATTACKS!

Why do you always have to show your ignorance and resort to profanity???

I do not think the person was suggesting that Avandia was not getting the additional black box for Heart Attacks. Rather the article itself, as cited by the Wall Street Journal word for word, is lumping Avandia and Actos together again.

So why don't you send the Wall Street Journal a rebuttal and be sure to call them names too!!!
