You sound a bit paranoid. What I still don't understand is this; if on a given Tuesday (or my case a Thursday) 25-50 got the boot. They are off site before you know fully who has been impacted. How am I to offer my support or show that I care or am not a snake etc? I have the ability to contact perhaps one or two which I do and wish them well. If there is a get together I attend. How does my staying show how I feel, or let anyone know my situation, or my reasons for staying etc? It's a #%^# business. Good bad or indifferent. It doesn't promise lifetime employment. I knew that once the layoffs started it is the luck of the drawer if you get hit or not.
They are not looking at names like a hit list, they say we need 2,000,000 in salary. So I need 400,000 from marketing, 250,000 sales, 200,000 operations etc. they get a list of positions from each group and saleries and say, cut,cut,cut,...
What I don't understand is if you folks that are doing all the whining, are still,there..leave if your that unhappy. If your gone, what does it matter who is there? I wish them well. I don't know how many I would even know now, but it doesn't Impact me that they are working there.
I spent 24 plus years, the far majority of the folks I met were decent, good folks. My last year or two my manager was an ass. But that is also luck of the drawer.
A lot who post here should get some help if your this bitter after you no longer work there, or quit if you work there and are this upset..
I agree, and made a similar post upthread. It is a miserable place to work, and they have run it into the ground. Most of the good people have left one way or another. And most of the assholes have been there for a long time (RG, BD, etc). They aren't new, and they didn't create the problem. They have survived, and they might add to it, but if Avista hadn't been so greedy, and if the sr managers going back even before BD had been prudent about their reliance on BVL, it would be a different story. Now, if you ask me how BD and MW and a few others survived the stockout fiasco, which they knew was a risk at LEAST back to 2007, then I don't know- they certainly should have addressed the BVL risk back when there was money.
All that said, I am among those who left and have been happier ever since.
