karuna deal

How? Start dates are not until early July. You already completed your panel interview? What region was this in?

Not a rep. I interviewed for R&D. Panel interviews done last week. Offer being prepared now. HR said their onboarding is about 3 weeks. Target start by end of June.

Not sure if equity is being offered to reps, but for my position it was.

Territories seem small for schizophrenia indication. You’re going to be forced to call on these private practices that don’t even treat schizophrenia for off label use

Smells like a classic over hire. Schizophrenic patients are concentrated in community mental health and public clinics. The compound is good but twice daily oral dosing and coverage will be a challenge. BMS paid billions for a drug that hasn’t been approved. They will expect results yesterday.

That’s how pharma generally works. It’s not a non profit silly. Perhaps you are not cut out for sales which explains your outlook.

Overhiring and knowing your plan is to cut territories in the next 6-12 months is inhumane. People walk away from good positions in good faith to come and help launch a new brand and division. Setting people up in marginal territories with poor coverage and then cutting them can be devastating to the individual. I’ve been doing this more than 20 years. It’s not how pharma generally works. It’s how some ruthless organizations in pharma work. All about shareholder value. Screw the reps and field sales no matter the human cost.

Perhaps you are not cut out for humanity which explains your outlook.

I launched Latuda years ago in schizophrenia. 300 reps in this disease state is WAY too many. You could launch successfully with half that number.

Lots of overreaction and personal opinion here. I get you seem scared from a previous experience but you can’t assume this will be like the personal blow you received. The change of cuts in your 6-12 month window are extremely unlikely. Maybe cuts in a few years post launch but not now.

They will initially have schizophrenia indication then others will follow as with all Atypicals

Based on the investor presentation at JPM, they are targeting the following indications: schizophrenia, schizophrenia (adjunctive), Alzheimers disease psychosis, Alzheimers disease agitation, bipolar I, mood & anxiety. Other indications are targeted for 2025-2026+.

Who is handling the recruiting efforts for these positions? Is it BMS or outside company? Has anyone been contacted yet for all the rep positions that are posted throughout the country?

I know this question always gets so much hate but please answer if you know. What is the fleet options for this division? From Manager, MHAS, to the TAS level?

Would love to know. A bit concerning that the overall offering isn't being waved about to entice candidates. The lack of information here would make me think all benefits, including fleet, 401k, equity, sign-on, vacation, etc. will be a disappointment.

If you are good enough to progress through the process to the panels,, you’ll get your info in plenty of time to make an informed decision.

Ha, well I hope there would be more clarity with the offer. Just haven't been part of a process where a company wants to fly me halfway across the country before specifics like this are discussed.

So do they really want to fly you 1/2 across the country? If that were really the case, you’d already have all the info you need prior to the trip. Have you even been notified that the hiring mgr wants to speak with you? Sounds like you are creating a situation for yourself that does not even exist.
