Job Openings for Gattex

HR will have no say in the hiring process, just there to make certain interviews conducted without any prejudice. Agree with the marketing assessment. That's the scary part does the company actually have a good handle on the size of the market. Upon initial launch the uptake by the docs will be fairly slow. Will need to address questions around reimbursement, patient co-pays, specialty pharmacies etc to a fairly naive audience of docs. If the expectations around market size and potential are not realistic this could get ugly fairly quickly. I'm still in..lots of potential here..
Wow you are such an expert on HR and also "still in". Scary isn't it.

I am out. Decided after a bit of soul searching that this is not the right opportunity for me. Way too many wildcards here. May have rolled the dice 10 years ago, but not now. Can't trust the manager as far as I can throw him...

Agree, after doing several start-ups in my past , GLFD, DCDE, VERT what they all have in common is that none of them are independent companies today and one is out of business, why? Because of inept management who felt the cash on hand was a license to party till the money ran out with little sales coming in. Anyone that is considering their offer please note the cash burn rate when all of the sales reps are hired and pay attention to drunken sailor spending at meetings.

While I appreciated the increase in my options most of the time options are worthless esp. if NPS's balance sheet scares investors who are crying for increased return on their investment. To much to risk in this economy, if you have a good job but are unhappy may want to hold out for the next start up and avoid the warning signs this group of managers bring from their past, UCB, Shire, Genzyme what do they have in common? Failure in their divisions and partying drunken fests spending widely when sales are down, it's a set up to fail like many biotechs. I can understand if you are unemployed and need a job, Merry Christmas. Sorry but I will not accept any offer to much to risk for so little in return.

I was part of the SVNT start up, look at what management did to that company, and the band played on while the ship went down, partying at meetings and spending money the company didn't have, what happened? they bailed while we fought to save our jobs but got fired. This type of consistent management style should never be put into the position to lead again, guess that wasn't the case with NPS, soon to be another casualty.

Does anybody have any insight concerning Mark C? Got some weird vibes from him!

Weird vibes like how? Like I am an arrogant SOB who knows everything about everything? Like I am going to micromanage you like you are fresh out of college? Like I have no patience and will make your life miserable? Like I have never launched an orphan drug before and I expect huge, immediate results? Like my former team at UCB reported me to HR on more than one occasion for various reasons only to have my boss (JM) brush it under the rug?

Yes. If those were the vibes you were getting, be forewarned. There is a reason ZERO tears were shed at UCB when he left. You truly need to think long and hard about working for him. Other than that, his mom says he's a great guy!!!

Can't believe this guy didn't get vetted out.

better get a good severance package - did you see how long it took this place to burn the last sales force ? hired, screwed, fired

look at when they went from 400 people to 50... now looking for a fresh group of idiots to fuck over

If you look at the lack of experience in selling an orphan drug with significant patient issues to coach SP personnel thru on this sales team, and a huge price tag, good luck.
