Yeah I just got an email from a recruiter, honestly they’d have to offer 200k for me to even consider moving, the idea of going back to a startup is a bit unnervingLots of animosity on this thread. Can anyone provide details to those of us being asked to interview? I’d like to avoid a train wreck if I can. Thanks!
Turned it down.
-Low car allowance with mileage, plus a lotus mileage tracker.
-Only 180k base
-Pharma check the box mentality feels like it will be too high pressure.
Not worth the headache
I worked for him at Genentech, I concur. I worked for a start up that ended in a sale and we all got screwed, I don’t want to go through that again I passed.Sims is all you need to know about this
Start date 4/10I think a lot of people have turned down this offer, and I think they are in panic mode. I had a recruiter reach out to me. Timeline is by the end of this month and they couldn’t answer any of my questions.
This is a start up and you’ll need to hustle to find the business. Looks like you want more time off than to actually work! Can anybody give really good specifics on what they are offering?
I want to know what did they say the culture is like?
What exactly is the car amount?
Do you get a gas card or is it mileage?
Is there a motus tracker?
What’s the vacation policy like?
do they give a Christmas shut down?
Do you get a mid year shut down?
What’s the 401(k) match?
Are they giving stock?
What’s the bonus?
Recruiter Couldn’t/wouldn’t answer these.
I’m not in big Pharma actually I’m in smaller biotech, but I am established. I hustle every day, but when you get to the point I am in my career there’s more than just money. Culture, mgmt, work life balance, and a good solid 401k match and stock are paramount. I would gladly stay at a company with a stellar culture and decent compensation than go to a startup fora few dollars more with a shoddy culture. Know your worth and non negotiables, at the end I’d the day you’ll be happierThis is a start up and you’ll need to hustle to find the business. With all the questions you’re asking above, it’s best you stay in your big pharma gif where you’ll have it easy.

Thanks I appreciate the honesty, I think they’re having a hard time filling some of these positions. I sense a little desperation in the voices of the people I’m speaking to.If you’re happy where you are I wouldn’t come to this place. This is not a management team that will care about salespeople. If or when the crap hits the fan the group at the top will protect each other. They’re building a team of yes men leaders also so if you think they will care what you think, think again. Some of the managers have no pharma experience and ask questions off a sheet of paper. A handful actually told candidates they would be first to market. Um, how did that work out? Run, don’t walk, away from this place.
