IT Layoffs



















Guessing about three months ...seems to be plan (as deranged as it is) to let go the best (the March layoffs) and most (the July ones) every three months. It will funny someday when they go to layoff and there's not enough late to hit the targets. Maybe the leaders will have to start taking help desk calls and implementing new interfaces then....
 






























How she talked Steve R into this plan is anyone's guess. He is the one that is accountable at the end of the day. With the entire world digital, it makes no sense to RIF experienced IT staff. I guess that was all the game she had and now she has some job security in rebuilding efforts.
 






The leadership just wants to get Quest to look like a great buy so they can sell it and collect millions. Everyone at Quest is just a pawn in their game of greed. Steve R has always said if he could not turn it around he would sell it. Start looking for the Coldwell Banker signs to go up soon.

Congratulations to all of the Quest IT who now have the opportunity to go somewhere better. Trust me, this sucks at first, but soon you'll be working in a place that doesn't give you that sick feeling in your stomach every morning. I left Quest 10 years ago and every year since then has been better than the last.
 












Yes it will never end. This company has more "initiatives" than the federal government. Project Drive---Project Restore---Project Invigorate...Quest has become one big "project". Six Sigma being phased out to be replaced with a new "project"...QMS, the Quest Management System. What do our clients that are waiting 6 months for an interface think about the Quest Management System??? IT isn't the only key are being butchered. Patient Services has been chopped to shreds for the last 3 years. We should soon be asking our phlebotomists to work 3.5 hours a day to cut costs. Those employees that remain are worked to death and come to the office each day with an ulcer and the fear of micro management, a burgeoning workload, and no relief in sight.
 






As far as people go. "Mr. I sunk Nortel" JH is the worst of them all. A cancer. He outsourced Nortel IT only to find out that the Chinese stole all of Nortel's secrets. Then he jumped from job to job, as I am certain each company had enough of his toxic energy. SR gifted him a job. His claim to fame at Quest was trying to reduce severance pay from 2 weeks per year and being "pissed" when he found out that it wasn't going to happen.

What kind of a person is he?
 






And my manager said to me the other day we are going to start having "Stay Interviews".. I mean WTF? This company is terminating hundreds of qualified employees and driving the reaming ones psychotic and they are actually interviewing current employees to see why they would stay at Quest? Is this place nuts? Quest Diagnostics is so incompetent with their management strategies that they don't know what would encourage an employee to stay with their company??? Dilbert is definitely running this comedy!

Well looks like you all called it. EM just announced she is moving on to a new position with a Quest Partner company. Our interface department is in complete shambles and now she is moving on.
