Experienced reps can see through a managers incompetence much faster. If you have little confidence as a manager, you are going to want them young and more naive.
they learned that at regency. don't hire intelligence. they will see right thru the fake numbers, the blame games, & the pips. that was a butt kissing gig.
some may have applied but we all know docs could care less about anything but generic narcotics. anyway no one has heard of iroko so another strike against the project!!!

No sour grapes here. I have complete confidence in my credentials and interviewing skills. I will land on my feet as I always have. The problem is not with me I can assure you that.

I was told the salary range is tiered dependent upon the cost of living within each territory. Tier 3 being the highest paid tier will be 65-75K DOE. Has anyone heard anything different? Anyone successfully negotiate above 75K?
well if you did not launch sprix then you are about to have a rude awakening in your offices. narcotics are king. course anyone should take the job if they get it just don't expect a miracle.
This is true. The old scam of "reinventing" and "rebranding" generic medications fails more often than not. This is EXACTLY the model being utilized. The contract with inVentiv demonstrates uncertainty. Remember, the drug isn't approved yet but most likely will be. Also, if Iroko is so innovative, why not hire an organic sales force? Answer, a re-packaged NSAID will not be a game changer and they want an exit strategy. As the previous poster stated, take the job if offered but keep your options open.

Just to share some info. from my experiences with this process. First, using a contract sales force is never a good sign for a new company and product. Doctors who I currently call on in the pain arena are very skeptical of any new product being launched by a new company with contract reps. Secondly, this is a "me too" product that is not ground breaking and will have challenges with managed care. I have also been told the salary is not going to be above 65K regardless of what you think you are worth. I don't need a job, but was contacted and have gone through all the steps so far. I met with the Iroko people and they are very serious about this launch, but when I asked key questions, they avoided answering them. A co-pay card is not going to cut it here. The target list is really anyone and a lot of primary care. I turned down the offer due to the contract situation and also because this company does not really have a solid plan on how to launch this drug. I think if you need a job or are trying to get back into pharma sales, this would be a decent chance to do so. But, if you think this will last more than a year or think you will have a career here, you should rethink your options. Just my 2 cents. Good luck to everyone who really wants this job.
