Idorsia contract

This has been the craziest contract :goals are crazy, 0 coverage have to put everything thru vitacare, no vis aid until Fri or Mon?,biweekly ride alongs, only paid on targets!!!, now my list changed with people that weren't in my "discovery " phase right before targeting window for next quarter showing so many I have never heard of..
just hoping to get a year out of this..Definitely not the blockbuster they sold us during the circus interview process!

I agree with everything you said. Minus biweekly ride alongs. Do you only have a few people on your team? I have a big team, so ride alongs will be about 7 weeks apart.

Boohoo…and what have you actually achieved besides complaining?

I'm so glad I chose not to pursue this position. As soon as I heard about the cattle call interviews, I removed myself from consideration.

It seems like the cattle call interview is the way Syneos hires for every contract.

Fortunately, I received a much better offer than this. I will tell everyone I know to stay far away from Syneos because of this interview process.

The cattle call interview model goes back to the 90's and is very demeaning. Unless you absolutely require a position, this method will cause great candidates to not pursue a future with Syneos.

I don't think the cattle call is standard for Syneos. I have been on several contracts and it was not this way. I also have friends direct who had to go on a cattle call. So, I think it is up to the company.

I have only seen cattle calls used when they need to build a huge new team.

Well I am glad I’m not alone in feeling the way I do. Im currently looking for a better position. This has been the most Fu%k#d up situation since we started. Does anyone really even know what is going on? Something changes every day and the amount of BS we have to do is crazy. This meeting should be really interesting. Get ready for it to get even worse when we actually have a product to sell.

Yes, constantly changing. Metrics don’t matter, yet they do. Use of cva matters, no it doesn’t. Spend your budget. Or not.
Artificial unrealistic launch goals place on a path of uncertainty.

Here’s the good. Blow out the launch phase until first bonus payment that reflects launch efforts, reflect that on your resume, and start looking asap.

I don’t get how some people love the contract jobs. For most, it’s either I couldn’t find another way to get into pharma. Or, as a result of layoffs within pharma, having to accept a contract job to get back into pharma. Nevertheless this is prob a short term thing.

My manager seems just as frustrated as we all are. She seems to have different things thrown at her all the time. Do this …no do this…oh and do this. Do this business plan , oh never mind do this one instead. Do this pre work for the meeting, oh sorry I meant do this. Call on the A targets oh I mean call on all targets. Whoops I meant add targets to your veeva. Don’t talk about the product oh I mean you can say the product name but can’t talk about efficacy. This is a specialty position , oh I’m sorry it’s really not it’s a primary care position and we have a couple specialists to call on. Ridiculous and exhausting. This gig won’t last long.

Yep. All of this. Spot on!

The most micromanaging I’ve seen in a very long time. Very frustrating. I agree with the comments of direction being all over the place. Do this, not that. Oh wait, do this instead.

i agree 100%. I have been a part of many launches and a few start up companies. With that said, this has been the worst thus far. The micromanaging is overboard. A launch is supposed to be fun! Instead, people are anxious and want to quit. That’s not how you run a team.

6 launches for me and this is by far the worst. There is nothing “fun” about this. I’ve never seen so many people looking for another opportunity so quickly. Seems to be that a mass exodus is imminent.

It is so sad to see how this contract is run. The ask is rediculous. Reps have cried after their ride alongs. Managers need a wake up call.

Why have reps cried after their ride along? This worries me when we don't even have a product yet. How could it have been so hard?

The amount of pressure and expectations which were not told to them. Some reps never experienced this type of launch before. Things changing on a dime. It’s a contract for Pete’s sake. If you want perfection, pay more $ and build your own salesforce.
