100%!! They are going to chase good people away. My manager has been cool "so far". But I don't know if it'll remain once pressure starts. If a manager is applying pressure already, that's a major red flag.
The amount of pressure and expectations which were not told to them. Some reps never experienced this type of launch before. Things changing on a dime. It’s a contract for Pete’s sake. If you want perfection, pay more $ and build your own salesforce.
Yes! We have two people in our district new to pharma. How did they get hired for this specialty role? They are drowning because this is just such a debacle. It’s hard enough for seasoned reps let alone the ones new to the industry. Seems like there are many unhappy people.

You be surprised that sometimes "newbies" do better than the seasoned ones and eventually become your managers. Like you were never a new rep yourself at one time in your rep life! This job is for anyone with enough "fire in their belly", seasoned or not! And usually, they don't hang out here in CP!
This is hilarious. Straight from management in disguise. Was just told about this site and it's been entertaining to read!
Coming from a sales job of being in the office by 8am, making 50 cold calls a day and given "far out goals" I do have to say this has been a very straight forward and simple experience.
The asks, again coming from previous sales jobs, have been simple to address especially with the daily flexibility given. Mark out your territory, identify the opportunities, and put it in a spread sheet to review with your manager. Sure we had to do it twice but that's much less than other companies make you do tasks.
I'm recruiting more of my previous colleagues who will gladly take the work life balance, salary, $75/mo cell phone expense and $100/mo new company car.
The only people duped is Syneos/Idorsia for hiring reps that want to take a vacation during the month of launching the medication! Easy competition for the rest of us. Bring on the trolling comments so we can all laugh more.
lackWow this thread has been very entertaining and very true. I can understand coming from outside the industry how this may feel like a better opportunity for you and your former colleague who you are recruiting. However, for the reps that have been in the industry for many years it’s very obvious that many of us are on the same page. This has been a real mess. The salary here is quite low and many of us took the position because this “seemed” like a good option at the time. Depending on which region you are in and who your manager is may make a difference as well. For me this has been bad. I’m really hoping that things get better and maybe it will change after the meeting but the leadership seems to be all over the place wirh no consistency whatsoever. Good luck to all and I’m happy that it’s been a positive change for some. Has not been that way for me and many others. See you in Boston.
Wow, I dunno... I hope we won't have to work, right??!!Anyone have idea how we get our bonus??
Have you discussed your concerns with your manager? So many posts about this contract. Maybe this will tell Syneos something. Probably not but one could only hope. We all know that this has been f’d up from day one. Training was a joke. They threw so much information at us in such a short period of time. We still don’t feel like we know what we are doing out here. As others have said, the unorganized nature of this launch is very worrisome. If Boston is anything like the last 3 months have been then we are all screwed. Do I hope things turn around? Yes of course but in the meantime this is just a disaster.
