Idorsia contract

Heard when this debacle started:
“No, we aren’t going to be like another big pharma company”
No we’re not going to be all about calls per day or metrics.
Famous last words.
How things change.

It’s a contract!!! Every contract signed has call metrics built into it. It’s always about calls per day and times between calls. Especially when numbers suck!!!!

It’s so laughable and sad at the same time. One teleconference it’s Hope.
What’s our strategy? Hope?
What to we talk about? Hope.
Who do we discuss until the end of year? You guessed it. Hope.
Wait….but you said…nope…we’ll, never mind what we said, we changed that.
Desperate times=desperate measures.

Is anyone getting harassed around discretionary PTO? Some managers can’t seem to wrap their head around what “discretionary” means despite the PTO policy being clearly laid out on the Syneos website.

What (legally) can a DSM say?
They can try to tiptoe and say just use what you had last year as a “guide”.
But they realty don’t have a basis to NOT grant you discretionary time.
Think of it this way:
Most companies give 15 days vac
Most give 5 days minimum sick leave.
Most give 2-3 personal days.
Why not use that as an argument?

I’m about to be put on a PIP if my numbers don’t go up by 12/22, which is unlikely to happen given my territory. Advice? Do I resign?
Start looking for a new job now! Treat the search as though you are currently unemployed. When you are inevitably put on the PIP, that will inform you of exactly how much time you have to find a new job.
Hope this helps!

The fact that your numbers aren’t improving…
With most pharma companies it sometimes can be attributed to the territory/rep.
With this contract, most blame can be placed on lack of managed care access…1.5 years post launch!!, numerous upper management shake ups, poor guidance , misdirection, and the list goes on. Don’t blame yourself.
