You're not convincing anyone with a brain that this math works. Talk dollars. I don't deposit "percentages" in my bank account. You guys simply don't sell enough product at price points that will matter to reps hawking this line. Inside salespeople cannot drive the growth here with an undifferentiated, old tech product.
There is your problem. You the products are highly differentiated Wylie still offering surgical and prosthetic compatibility. They are coveredy new desighn and thread patents with value added all-in-1 packaging.

I normally only read this blog from time to time, but yesterday I had a real winner in my clinic. I have been using Straumann for quite some time and had an Implant Direct rep cold call me. Usually I send them away, but as I was in between patients, I decided to have a chat.
The guy couldn´t even explain the implant, let alone the surface, connections and everything else for that matter. All he did the entire time was mention the price. If it´s all down to price, then why did I even go to college? After a little more digging he said that Straumann was from Switzerland and Implant Direct is good since their headquarters is also in Switzerland. I told him to go push his implants there, and what did Switzerland have to to with Boston?
Believe it or not he told me that the Swiss came to Boston and that´s why we gained independence and now we are taking our revenge by offering cheap implants of a Swiss company. Of course I had him leave, and instructed the staff to send him or anyone else from that company away. Afterwards I went out to lunch, looking over my back just in case he was hanging around spending his salary on things other than food.
A statement like this one here on any other implant blog would get tremendous back-lash from the company's respective reps. Any other blog, thems are fighting words. Not here though; You can see how low morale is that nobody even gives a shit or cares to defend that statement. Truth is, the rep that told you that we are taking revenge on a Swiss company probably said it on purpose because he does't give a shit, like most of us. Its actually funny because I know how he feels. There is very little faith, trust and pride at IDSI. Niznick sure has done a piss poor job of making this a decent place to work and now clinicians are feeling the effect. And yes, Dentists do read these blogs and they do post on here.
Wishful thinking by some outdated,outsmarted and now financially outgunned strauman or Nobel reps fantasizing about being docs or ID reps. sad sad attempt to make the fastest growing implant company in the industry look like it has staff probes. To much time on their hands because docs won't take their calls anymore. docs can get all the help they need now on nits website
1. No one has ever wished to be an ID rep. That's a job you take when you aren't talented enough to secure one with a real leader.
2. If you truly want time on your hands, doors closed in your face, and to be associated with the cartoonish Niznick (career-killer) -- call them up. If you believe in unicorns and pretend numbers, he'd like to talk to you.
3. My access and involvement is close to 100%--not sure what you mean about docs "not taking calls anymore". You should look in the mirror for that one.
I think we can close this blog. Originally it was what Sybron reps thought of Niznick, but now that Sybron doesnt exist anymore as an implant company and the reps have either been incorporated into Implant Direct, left or have been fired, it is sensless to carry on.
Anyone who doesn't think the Sybron merger with ID doesn't make that company an even greater threat to the major players is fooling themselves. Niznick's phylosophy of making high quality compatible implants to take business away from the $300+ implant lines has worked, resulting in lost sales for competitors plus forced discounts. Just look how Nobel's sales have dropped and how many Nobel reps are gone. Maybe Scala's departure is due to no small measure to Niznick and he has certainly taken business from Zimmer, BH and even the low priced companies. You don't support 40 machines running 24/7 and a customer service department with 40 people if you are not selling a fair number of implants. You don't get $300M for your company in just 4 years if you are not tapped into to what many dental professionals are looking for. Since the merger, only 2 SIS sales reps left for other industries and more than double that has been added. Implant Direct combined sales will reach $100M putting it ahead of BH and making it the #5 or #6 implant company in North America and in the world. So quite your wining and accept the new reality... Implant Direct will continue to grow with new products and services because it is now part of a $15B company, making it the best funded company in the implant industry.
Anyone interested in emails from Niznick to the entire sales staff telling the sales team if a doctor drops an implant on the floor just rinse it off and you can still use it in a patient. How about sales managers and the sales/customer service director telling staff not to tell anyone that a tool is defective and that we will just keep selling it and cover it up with store credits for the doctors. This was before and after the sybron merger. FDA should shut them down just for these two reasons alone. They treat doctors and the staff the same way with little or no respect. Niznick thinks he is god and he can say whatever he wants. I will gladly join any legal action against him and the company.
