This is funny - I agree that wives, families, dogs, and/or cats really don't matter in job performance. Your post is as bad as the person commenting on Hanson's wife and personal situation and lacks any substance or fact.
Being a good CEO isn't a popularity contest measured in Gallup scores it's about creating a vision for the company and increasing shareholder value. Even if you believe that he's a visionary (which is debatable) and/or it's a great place to work (company ran Gallup survey) you can't argue his vision and direction has led to a terrible performance creating shareholder value (the street doesn't get it wrong over a 5 year period) both relative to the med-tech market and peer group. Also, if you've been in 3+ meetings with Ivan I would really challenge your take on the culture. From a corporate perspective, it's not super uncommon that the CEO is also the Chairman of the Board to simplify and streamline operations. Most times this isn't a great thing from the long term perspective due to the lack of separation of "church and state". Dvorak wasn't the most dynamic leader and doesn't have the stage presence of BH but I liked the corporate culture and performance of my ZB/ZBH shares and options a heck of a lot better under his reign than the last 5 years.
For the record -- Still work here and really believe in the products, people, and customers we serve... Didn't have a shot or kick the dog but I did drink a beer... Feel free to sling some additional personal insults or correct my grammar in your response...
