Perhaps healthcare facility operators should ban Gilead sales reps from calling on their hospitals. What Gilead has done is far more egregious than Genentechs transgression.
Gileads greed is going to bankrupt the healthcare system. Also, lets not forget about the Daclatasvir debacle. Gilead once again putting profit before people.

Gilead reps are not savvy enough to find the front door of a hospital or clinic since most of the HCV reps sold proctofoam and Tums to qualify as GI specialists. They can't sell, they demand that their customers use their med and a year later, think they own the world when the reality it that most of the national experts stay an arms length from them and their dirty management team. They just prescribe sof because it is easy to do.

It's funny to me how this person conveniently doesn't choose to discuss the total cost of older treatments. Not to mention the horrible side effects of interferon and ribavirin...or maybe the low cure rates....or those who can't finish their regimen because it takes a year.....shall I go on?

Agreed, but because the price is so damn high, many patients are going to have to wait until their disease advances to get treatment. Gilead has the luxury of being the first, but as newer agents come to market, as long as the cure rates are close enough and the price is significantly less, price will win. Gilead has won the battle, but not the war. The Gilead name is now equated to greed and most people have a low opinion of that and tend to remember the bad over all else.
