What was/is the name of the company with the Hep C drug (more expensive btw) that was best in class before Sovaldi? What's the name of the companies that make Oncology drugs that "prolong" life by a few months and cost over $100,000? Exactly. Just because you have an axe to grind with Gilead doesn't mean the rest of the world does.

BTW the oncology drugs are def. in the news too but people don't remember the companies.

Dumb ass! The cost of treating a patient prior to Sovaldi coming out was more expensive with a significantly longer treatment time.

1. OLysio + Pegasys + ribaviron =$106673. 48 weeks
2. Incivek + Pegasys + ribaviron =$106418. 48 weeks
3. Victrelis + Pegasys + ribaviron =$95845. 48 weeks
4. Solvadi + Pegasys + ribaviron=$94078. 12 weeks

In addition, the only reason there is so much hype around the cost is because the influx of patients now seeking treatment due to 100% cure rates with Solvadi never before seen in HCV treatment. These payers didn't budget for them and now are complaining about the cost when prior treatments were more expensive. Furthermore, the cost is 63k for 8 weeks not 6 weeks for 84,000.

So why don't you get your facts straight you stupid fuck! Shut your pie hole and sit your ass down where it belongs! That's all! Thanks for playing.....

Bam! And there it is!!! The cost of the treatment regimen isn't based upon how long the treatment time is. It's based upon competitively pricing it with other regimens to achieve a 100% cure rate! These rates have never been seen before in HCV history!!
