Genomind

This place seems desperate to make a profit. They are focusing on "micro territories" that have United Healthcare potential, and nothing else. Half of the leadership team and several tenured reps have recently left. They are "drilling down" on call activity, and declaring that "we are not out of money!'
The MSL team seems like the only professionals in the building. If you are looking to join, I'd look somewhere else with more stability.

“MSL Team seems to be the only professionals in the building” possibly written by a rogue MSL? I think so. Genomind is fine for a first job in biotech/good landing spot for recently canned pharma reps. As far as a career here? Not a chance. You’ll get peanuts for your efforts.

Things are turning around now that Mamaw is at the helm!

I got a call last week from Ed Klapp stating he is the new VP os Sales with this company. I googled him and this guy was in prison and word on the street is he is heading right back to prison soon. I have no idea how he got my number but sounded like a used car salesman and something was not right.

So why are you posting that message on this thread? Also what word on the street are you talking about? I have always had serious doubts about anything like that posted on this board and most of the time it is posted by a competitor or former coworker whose relationship went sideways. In fact I know for a fact I have seen total lies by some competitors just posting total fabrications just to try and hurt another business. I will admit I agree with you that he does have a criminal record and I am kind of surprised that CMS does not have any type of restrictions against him working in the medical industry where they are involved.

If I'm understanding, correctly, you had contact with the Klapp (Gonorrhea)?

The Covid-19 will start to significantly impact our already dwindling sales numbers. I hate to say it, but, looks like layoffs are inevitable in some territories. Just not realistic to keep everyone here. Good luck to everyone and stay safe. God bless

I completely agree that this will shutter this company that was already hanging by a string. They have been saying that our incentive comp will be done in "two weeks" for almost three months. Same goes for UHC contract. What are they hiding?
The leadership at this organization is piss poor. They're all very inappropriate in their messaging, tone, and entire style of communication. Everyone I know is looking/ interviewing. I would be shocked if we made it to Q3.

I'm sad to see what our company has become. Such a shame, I don't think I've ever seen a product that is so far ahead of it's competitors only to be wasted by poor strategy from the home office (not just current, but past leadership as well). Everybody knows that you have to get paid for your product or service. They need to focus on payers, and do it quickly. We don't need hyper focussed territories...we need a hyper focus on reimbursement. Although we've made some payer headway recently, the last I checked successful companies can't/don't leave that up to one individual. My opinion - we need a team of at least five that know the payer markets in different areas of the county. On top of that, when cuts are necessary we always seem to give the axe to knowledgable, tenured, and valuable employees. BR, RS, JS (amongst many others)?? What about the newbies that are barely learning the difference between PD and PK genes - nothing personal against any of them but how are they helping our revenue in the short term? So damn frustrating. Who knows, it might be too late at this point...like I said such a shame.

Too late to save this dying company. Unfortunately they never placed an emphasis on building good reimbursement relationships with managed care companies and have kept on senior management who have no idea how to managed effectively and overpaid them for doing nothing while they abuse the expenses to serve their own need, LM is the worst offender. She also hired lazy reps and ran out good hardworking ones. This company will die because they refused to right the ship and get good qualified persons in the C-suite spots to effectively get paid for a good test....

You can't build payer relationships if you product doesn't save money to those payers. If this testing was FDA approved every payer would be all over it. Genomind can;t get FDA approval because they can;t prove the test works!

GET OUT NOW!!! Salaries were cut and more lay-off's happened. They won't be around in 3 months.
I wasn't shocked that they cut salaries and had to layoff sales reps. The head scratcher is that they had a long conference call with all of sales to let us all know what % of our salaries would be cut, then they had our managers call us later that evening and tell us that they "misspoke", and that the % decrease was only for home office employees, and that sales would all be paid a flat rate. WTF! You really think we trust you? How can you F-up the delivery of such an important message?

Although they've been more involved in the industry, the FDA doesn't approve LDTs. They haven't for Myriad, Ambry, Invitae, etc, and the won't "approve" anything for Genomind. That being said, Genomind needs to capitalize on cost saving measures for insurance companies by expanding the study/data they already have and EFFECTIVELY selling the concept with the RIGHT people. Its not rocket science...or maybe it is?

Great week at Genomind! A hacker embarrassed us in front of 300+ participants on a national Zoom meeting, price increase of PGx released, and still no IC plan for Q1. Great job team!
