Gender Equality at Biotronik

We do have a few women in leadership roles here in house like Amy and Katarina, but they are definitely in the minority and they will be the first to admit that. I was recently was promoted for the first time and offered a 3% raise only because I complained that they were not filling the open positions in my group even after things started to come back after COVID and I was not willing to take on all the extra work anymore. My “raise” is the same as the cost of living increase we should have received last year, so essentially no raise at all and I am still doing the work of 2 people. This is a common story across many in house departments and why I think you’ve been seeing so many people leave the company in the past year. From what I’ve seen it takes women working in house 50% longer to be promoted and the pay increases offered are not the same as what I hear some of my male colleagues have been offered. I think it someone filed a complaint and they looked into this it would be very clear that women are not being treated equally at this company.
Ryan keeps asking us to believe in the company and be fully supportive, but it’s a two way street. I’m not seeing a lot of reciprocity on their part and they can’t blame COVID forever. I feel more squeezed than ever with unreasonable workloads and zero support from my manager and other teams. Starting to feel like sadly this is the new normal at Bio.

Hasn’t BIO already had several multimillion $ payouts over the past few years? I think most of those were related to improper sales techniques, but didn’t that rep in Florida allege harassment in addition to the stuff about taking doctor’s families on Disney cruises?
I think her claims were dismissed but that certainly does not mean there was not merit to the case, it could have been dismissed for many different reasons.

Listen, I am only sympathetic to a point. The door is open. There hasn’t been a better time to get a new job in several years. Plenty of companies hiring in and out of CRM and if your are in the field, lots of clinical roles in hospitals that anyone with field clinical training and a few years’ experience would easily qualify for. Bio isn't for eveyone.

You’re a tool and clueless. I’m only sympathetic towards idiots like you to a point. Stop giving out advice to women.

No woman should have to leave their job because of harassment or expect anything less than equal treatment. You are probably one of the circle jerking harassers yourself!

Hi, I’m an attorney partner with Siegel & Dolan, a Chicago-based labor law firm. An extended family member who is a former BIOTRONIK employee recently filled me in about a few of the allegations made against your company by female employees, some of which I find personally quite disturbing. If you feel that you have been a victim of illegal labor practices, harassment or discrimination and you would like to consult an attorney to discuss your options, please give our firm a call at (312) 878-3210 for a fully confidential, no obligation assessment.

I called, they are legit.

I think we need to make our voices heard. If enough of us reported these concerns to the anonymous HR hotline they would be forced to addresses the issue without retaliation risk to us. I think they also have to report these stats to the government so they have an interest in getting this under control. Don't want to discourage anyone from seeking legal resolution but it sounds like BIO needs a wake up call this is not isolated behavior, especially the leadership in Germany, who tend to ignore bad behavior in the US because they care more about revenue than people.

Just curious how many people are planning to go back to the office in January? I have unvaccinated kids so I can’t/woln’t return until we have them immunized. Just wondering what others are thinking.

Well, this has got to be one of the dumbest comments I have read today. So are you telling me that your kids aren't in school? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Same here. Can’t return until my two under 5 are eligible. If they force the return to the office policy, I’ll be looking for another job.

Ignore the troll, he’ll go back into hiding if we ignore him. Good news, looks like reopening plans have been delayed till spring. Not likely vaccines for under 5 will be approved by then but it might buy you some additional time to find alternatives. Good luck!

Actually, the most dim-witted comment here today is yours which assumes this person’s kids are school aged. Your lunch break is over troll, time to go back to your miserable thankless job in the BIO tantalum mines.

I think the coming winter COVID surge is going to put a halt to those spring re-opening plans. Numbers are already going up across many states and the new variant is now in the US so only a matter of time until infections are up here as well. Current vaccine doesn't look effective against the new strain. Back to the office in 2023? Max should just put the non-productions buildings in Lake O up for sale while there is still some value left in commercial properties.
