Field medical implosion has begun.

Why are folks that have the option of a package to GTHOHere whining so much? Some of us are stuck with this BS without the option of a package.

I'm keeping my options open but after the bonus check comes in may look to move on, regardless. Sounds like the new managers will likely be a mix of newbies, many from outside, and won't have a clue....but perhaps that's by design/intent?

Curious which MSL only do that.....most do a lot more than folks realize. Let's be real, commercial access has been negligible for years with waaaay too many people and different roles to have meaningful impact.

Many on the field medical team (MSLs, MCLs, managers) may just leave and good luck on getting newbies that will take 6-9months if not years to have significant impact in the field.

= McKinsey talent DRAIN and FANTASTIC pick up for smaller companies. Where is the puke bag?

In my experience the MSL team I have worked with have been excellent. They work extremely hard for the customers and push back to get additional resources such as clinical trial to non-preferred sites. If they lose these folks they will regret it for years to come.

You must be a blue blood with no experience to say that. Why did you have to make it awkward?

Anyone have any good insights on what the new field director role will be like? Seems like they are asking way too much in the new JD. Need to decide soon about whether to interview or not. Would hate to find out after the fact that I should have taken the package. Is it me or is the culture going downhill?

Take the package. There will be a lot of micro managing going forward. You might be asked to cover multiple states. Why go through that when you can get a local job and collect two salaries for the year. Nothing special here anymore.

New announcement for FMT leaders. Thoughts?

NM is MED CA...like seriously and lost the job to external in a time of impending launch, etc.. Other "heads" moving over into new TA trumping current leaders. MCL leadership shifting down to regional focus and the rest of the poor team hanging out for month and months with few hopeful for a MED job while most will be 'shown the door'

Field Director announcements will prove interesting. Seems most current managers are opting out and I'm not enthusiastic about a few of the folks I hear may be going after the jobs.

Am I jaded...perhaps but really more just frustrated by all of this. This all seems more crazy than even the external COVID19 situation.

To those that want to stay - some advice for your interviews - learn corporate speak, say the word strategy in every other sentence, say some stuff about how your mindset (whatever the heck that means) is good and say you're all in on customer centricity and you'll have a shot unless they already have the person they want picked out

Learn to lean in, put a finer point on it, and kiss ass to scale.

We are beginning to see people with far less experience and lower current pay grades jump up several levels of leadership, while more experienced candidates are being passed over and told they are not qualified. Mindset seems to be a distraction from the real political and diversity factors at play in ecosystem hiring.

Is anyone else concerned about the new ecosystem organization structure, from a compliance standpoint? The beginning of the end of "medical" was when they appointed a person who previously functioned as Product Manager (commercial) and then Franchise Operations Manager (commercial) to head up the Field Medical Team. So far, this company has avoided a CIA but they are now playing with fire with the further dissolution of medical independence in the proposed ecosystems. Whether directly or indirectly, the new MSL roles will receive marching orders from commercial. Looks like an open invitation to be investigated by the OIG.

Did you report your thoughts to compliance hotline in line with company expectations for all employees? I suspect compliance knows what is going on. What they are doing about, however, is unclear.

Sh!t show shifting into high gear.

90% of current FMT managers walking to be replaced by newbies (nice but green and no experience) and some unknown but pending externals.

A top reason that people leave is management/leadership. Congrats to the leadership on ranking amongst the all time greatest on losing talent. No fault of the newbies but they will learn soon enough that once you get some experience, you might wanna move on.

MSL interviews starting soon...many won’t have a clue about who they would report to IF granted an interview and position. Package is looking better and better.

God bless this mess.

Will save most comments on the MEDS for another day. Worst Head ever. Stop hiding behind being Agile as an excuse for how crappy the pioneer role-out has been and quality of externals. Bull

Wow.

She has left a body count in every management job here at GNE. It’s too many to count. Now she is wiping out vast majorly of the MCLs as well. Many were recent hires. Smh ‍♀️
PH has just about, single-handedly, destroyed the entire MSL organization at GNE, playing off the naiveté of people like Lance and JF - which tells you a lot about them.

These posts have certainly hit the nail on the head. So sad to see almost all the current managers leaving. The ones that stayed are the people no one wants to report to. Good luck keeping any good MSLs.

I am a commercial person and I am very sad to see this organization being run to the ground. Yes, some changes were probably needed. But this has destroyed it. Medicals roles are very hard to recruit for.

Good luck Genentech. You have screwed this up too. You are nothing without your medical team
