The interview I went through was with 2 mgrs. from Mallinckrodt. It was a walkthrough of my resume and then the typical STAR question system. They went back and forth asking corporate questions and then left some time for me to ask questions. Overall, it was pretty basic and very standard. Hope that helps.

THANK YOU !

What were the STAR situations that they asked? Just want to be as prepared as possible bc I really NEED this job! thx

Listen, have at least 3 or 4 stories that you can apply to the various star questions: conflict from company, from colleagues. Challenges you encountered and dealt with, a time when the rug was pulled out from under you. A time you rose above your peers. Leadership stuff you have done. Be specific with names and especially the relevance the situation had to you.
Good luck. Don't be afraid of this format. It's an opportunity to strut your stuff. You got this far. That means you deserve to be here.

I'll throw in an additional piece if advice; project confidence. These guys are not looking to dick you, they're trying to offer you the opportunity to sell yourself. They're good guys trying to do a job. Be at the top of your game and make it easy for them. Finally, it is what it is and it's in the cards or it isn't. Fate. Prepare, relax, straighten your tie, take a deep breath (if you need to) and march in there with your shoulders back and your head held high. Look them in the eye and keep a wry, knowing grin on your face.
It isn't the end of the world... it's a fuc#ing interview.

STAR questions is time for extended reality answers...really what do we do every day that calls for above and beyond efforts? Gee , office called..out of samples..ran over and dropped some off...last minute lunch cancelled by other rep! I saved the day at last minute , ordered some pizza..talked to doc!...Volunteered at regional meeting to make detail presentation with Regional mgr! impressed the crowd...my market share went for 0 to 1000% in 6 months (show report - nobody realized or told that numbers based on 0 factor at start of contract)

Good luck to everyone..sorry to be crouch...caffeine hasn't kicked in...It's 5 o'clock somewhere this Friday..start of weekend!

Too funny and oh so true!!

Any laid off Endo contract reps or Endo reps make it onward to the 2nd IV
& told it was yours? Through Tuesday none made it despite help
From TB, director for this contract? Yep, selling V Gel & Opana ER
To top performance must be intimindating for the inexperienced
Mallinckrodt mgrs. I thought InVentiv brags about using good reps
Again. Nope! Not here or for Iroko!
Endo reps wouldn' represent Mallinckrodt well and hoping hiring managers are smart enough to figure. That type hiring annoys doctors more than ever sending ex endo rep to another pain company. and primary care? this job is for the experienced. end story!!!! go to iroko endo reps.

You are dead on!!!!! Quintiles made the mistake of hiring a bunch of Endo reps to sell Nucynta on their Janssen contract and it was a huge mistake. The Endo reps are all a bunch of know it alls that drank way too much Opana ER Cool aid. They can't effectively sell against their old products and they've lost all credibility with the drs. One day they said the sky was blue and now they are claiming that it's green. They're just like speakers who speak for multiple companies, nobody wants to listen to them because they are all whores. Not to mention unprofessional as hell!!!

I have an interview in NJ early next week. Could someone please explain the process that they went through. Is it an initial interview with the hiring DM and another DM? Then if you move on from that, is there one or two additional interviews? And who are those interviews with? Thanks in advance for any insight that you are willing to offer.

The funny part about this posting is that the industry loves to do this. Old school pharma DMs and recruiters look for reps with experience in a given therapeutic class. They advertise for reps that have experience selling a certain class of drugs and established relationships. In return the docs get reps that sold the competitor a few months ago. How many have heard "sorry we need at least 3 years experience selling (insert therapeutic area)". No wonder our industry is going down the tubes.

In hopes both managers & contract managers do not hire reps to launch a pain drug where reps sold the competition (ex. Endo reps). The Mallinckrodt launch is vital to future success.
