I have an interview in NJ early next week. Could someone please explain the process that they went through. Is it an initial interview with the hiring DM and another DM? Then if you move on from that, is there one or two additional interviews? And who are those interviews with? Thanks in advance for any insight that you are willing to offer.

I would also be grateful for any insight? Is it 2 interviews or 3? And who is the last interview with?

You are dead on!!!!! Quintiles made the mistake of hiring a bunch of Endo reps to sell Nucynta on their Janssen contract and it was a huge mistake. The Endo reps are all a bunch of know it alls that drank way too much Opana ER Cool aid. They can't effectively sell against their old products and they've lost all credibility with the drs. One day they said the sky was blue and now they are claiming that it's green. They're just like speakers who speak for multiple companies, nobody wants to listen to them because they are all whores. Not to mention unprofessional as hell!!!

How mistaken you are! Most reps that sell against a product that they have already promoted know the products strengths and weaknesses, as well as the competitive landscape. No credibility is lost with physicians - rather, physicians see as valued insight.

The "speakers" comment may very well be true.

To the above posts looking for advice: 1) PROVE YOUR RESUME with the first interview...if not, you won't have a second interview. 2) You need to introduce your brag book while doing #1 and show ranking and performance. 3) Answer competency questions (no need to tell you the questions...if you have the experience, you should do fine.) 4) If you have pain experience...tread lightly. Remember, you competed more than likely against Mallinckrodt - Show an understanding of marketplace.

You need to gel with the hiring manager - make a connection if at all possible. Most managers that I have seen there are aprox. 30-40 yrs. old. If you have more yrs. to your side ... be careful not to intimidate - show leadership qualities and how you can share successes with other team members. Finally, close for the job...why you would be the best candidate for the position...maybe, ask manager what they are looking for? ex) "With what we discussed today...with what I was able to show you with experience and performance...am I the kind of candidate you would want on your team? Or, quickly summarize why you would be their candidate with your top 2-3 qualities and close for the job (Look for their expression or answer) Chances are, they will just give you a "stock" answer which is why a facial expression is interesting. More than likely you will know if you did #s 1-4 satisfactory to land you the 2nd interview.

Reading the posts and going thru multiple interviews in the past, too much experience and too much performance could very well hurt you too. You would think that's exactly what they are looking for? Not sure - it's a fine line. Good luck!

Any of the branded CIIs are tough. The first problem will be not having it on the pharmacy shelves; with any acute medication, if it is not readily available, the script will not get filled. SO pharmacy follow though will be crucial. I do not know how this medication will be perceived by the providers. Generic versions are there and in their eyes if it is dosed for a hew days/weeks patients will not get addicted so I am not for sure how they will perceive the improvements over what is already out there. The BID doing is better, but then there is overlap with the long acting medications, so being concise in the message will be crucial.

all true. can't sell it until there is availability. pharmacy calls and a list of those chains who have it, are important.
