Electric Vehicle

Drove by a Chevy dealership and decided to stop in and take a look at the new EV. The Bolt is a death trap waiting to happen. Anyone who has to drive on the highway with a high degree of frequency better be careful. One bad accident and the driver is done. I get what AZ is wanting to do the the EV initiative, but at least put us in a car that gives you a chance if there's an accident-Tesla. The Bolt is the electric version of the Yugo. If you haven't seen this car yet, do yourself a favor and stop in at a chevy dealership. The go cart is horrendously small! We have a legit complaint to HR citing a safety issue. Its going to take a couple serious accidents for AZ to wake up. The Bolt is clearly meant for someone that does light local travel. Its absolutely not meant for reps driving 100-150 miles a day.

Stop your belly aching and be thankful you have a job! Plenty of food delivery folks would trade places with you. Go to HR and see what they have to say, loser rep!

No. Charger technology/app can tell how much power is utilized each month and you will be reimbursed. Consider it like your cellphone reimbursement. You need the technology to do your job and AZ reimburses. In other words, cost does not roll down hill for switching to electric. AZ is financially invested and covering costs.
Like my cell phone reimbursement? AZ does not reimburse me for my whole bill and when I need a new phone it comes out of my pocket. Plus the reimbursent is capped, and I have to pay the balance. They don't give me a penny for the internet that I have to have either.

Strange. My corporate phone bill is completely covered.

I don't understand the bitterness. We are in our cars 8-5, its our office on wheels. Its not merely reps complaining for obvious reasons already stated - we just don't want to hate the car we are doing our job in. And a simple consideration to simply feel safe. I don't think that's too much.
Exactly! It is like taking one of those people with an office and a desk job and telling them that they are moving out of their office into a closet because the closet requires less electricity with only one light bulb.

After reading the FAQ document, the company will only reimburse $70 a month in electric charging cost. What will they do for those who live in areas with high electric rates even when charging off-peak? I can tell you where I'm at EV charging off peak at home can easily cost $5 or more a day.

Based on the wording sounds like we will have to pay any excess over the allowable $70 even if its work related. It states you can use a public charger if needed to continue your journey but they want it limited and will need to be expensed to corporate card so you know they will be tracking this in concur. If we are using the EV car for personal use since (we have to pay $140 a month for the privilege) what do we do on weekends? Do we need to use our own money to charge the car outside the house? At least with our gas and hybrid cars the fuel was always covered by the fuel card no matter if it was business or personal. If they plan to make us foot the bill then they need to get rid of the $140 personal use fee or significantly reduce it.
I don't like being forced to pay $1,680 a year for something I don't want. We already pay for the electricity to power their computers, their printers, their iPad and now maybe we will be paying to charge their cars (well any overage).

From everything I am reading it sounds like people will PAY EXTRA to have their lunches delivered so if they get caught having to stop to charge their car, the food will still get there. Or if they plan to deliver the food, they need to throw their promotional materials in the trash to fit the food in that tiny car.

Wow. I'm in the field and have to say, WTF?
Entitlement much?

No one is forcing you to work at AZ.
