Electric Vehicle

The gases that are emitted out from the exhaust of an automobile contain various poisonous gases that are harmful for living beings. Gases like carbon-dioxide, carbon-monoxide, oxides of nitrogen exacerbate the already deteriorating ozone layer - global climate disasters. The harmful particles that remain suspended in our atmosphere impact the quality of air that we breathe in leading to numerous respiratory diseases and cancers. Our company made the RIGHT decision to go to EVs!

Oh please!!!!

Wait to we see what happens once AZ reps start getting into accidents with these electric go karts. Completely unsafe. I can't imagine getting into an accident at speeds over 35mph. Does Pascal get driven around in a Chevy Bolt or a EV of any sort. I would guess not.
Electric vehicles are inherently safer than internal combustion engines. When compared to gasoline engines, the safety of lithium-ion batteries is significantly lower. When compared to a traditional vehicle, electric vehicles have only about 20 moving parts, whereas a standard vehicle has about 2000 moving parts. Electric vehicles have a lower risk of accidents because they are significantly heavier than gasoline-powered vehicles. Electric vehicles are more likely to pass a collision test than gas vehicles. In crash tests conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, EVs received the highest level of safety. Electric vehicles are among the safest on the market. Facts are driving AZ's decision!

Thanks AZ for being part of the solution! New research finds that deaths from fossil fuel emissions are higher than previously thought—more than 8 million people per year, worldwide. A sprawling analysis published by The Lancet focuses on public health data from 2019, and finds that heat waves, air pollution and extreme weather increasingly damage human health. PROUD TO BE AZ.
And 3/4 of them are in China and India where most of it is currently stemming from. Give it a rest.

More of us will die from long term stress on our bodies from being stranded on roads in rural areas or worried about personal safety sitting in our EV's for hours charging in city areas while batteries recharge than any fossil fuel health risk. Just accept the hard reality that EV technology and infrastructure is not ready for primetime or widespread fleets in many areas of the US and world yet.

This is a terrible top down management decision that is going to have a very real and negative impact on thousands of employees quality of life, personal safety, and morale. It is also going to cost many millions extra in lost productivity and high turnover. Don't shoot the realist and messenger.

ask the firefighters who say it takes a lot longer to put out these fires.

This almost made me laugh. Comes from the same playbook that the old VP (Al Gore) used. Wasn't Miami supposed to be covered in water by now? Didn't AOC say that in 12 years, the world will end? Well, that was 3 years ago. 9 years to go so we might as well go out partying hard.

While I'm at it, did you read about what scientists have done with fusion energy? I know, you are probably saying, what is fusion? It thought that was a car. The energy of energy.

Irrefutable fact from the WHO (December 2022): The last few years have experienced the highest global temperatures in history. Heatwaves, droughts and natural disasters will become more frequent and severe if we don’t take action on reducing emissions. To prevent the most extreme consequences, we must limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C. Yet The planet has already warmed by as much as 1.2 degrees. We need to cut emissions immediately.

99% of AZ workforce supports the decision to go to EV fleet.

Did you just quote the WHO? Bahahahahahahahha.. it’s like you’ve been living under a rock for 2 years. You woke libs seriously blow my mind

The Chevy Bolt is a very small vehicle. If you get hit by, say, a full sized pickup truck, you're dead.

Those batteries store a lot of energy. If they crack in a collision, or get pierced by road debris (the batteries are under the floor) as happened recently, you can get a short circuit which results in a massive fire. There's no way for firefighters to put the fire out...they pour thousands of gallons of water on it to cool it down, only to have it reignite until the batteries are completely burned to a crisp, along with the rest of the car.

There's a reason lithium batteries are banned in many places, and your laptop arrives with warning stickers regarding fire hazard.

Yes, gas vehicles can catch fire too, but there are strict rules about how the relatively small gas tank is placed and protected in the vehicle. EV batteries are massive and cannot be as protected from collisions due to their size relative to the vehicle.

Good luck with your facts when you get into an accident on the highway. I'll take my chances with the RAV4 rather than go-kart!

Where do you live? California? I can promise you that the EV vehicles have zero support where I live. Not one rep in my area supports or wants a Chevy Bolt. Get real you lefty liberal.

LOL. Glad you polled everyone in the company to draw that conclusion. I mean if you think it and say it it must be so, right? I think you need to get out a bit more. Prolonged isolation in that ivory tower is numbing your brain.

You really need to get out more my friend. Apparently you've never talked with anybody outside your cubicle farm.

I haven't talked with one field based employee anywhere who is happy about the EV decision and situation. Morale is already down and it is just starting. Just wait until these electric boxes start hitting and people have to deal with all the issues assiciated with the lack of range and ithe nfrastructure necessary to do their jobs adequately.

Was -5 here this week. What was supposed to be a 4 hour trip (inclusive of 1-30 minute charge) turned out to be a 9 hour trip having to stop for 3 charges. These EVs are not practical for cold climates.. the ranges cut in half. God forbid you have to charge your phone or iPad while driving.
When it comes to driving in icy and snowy conditions, electric cars perform much better than traditional vehicles. Electric cars use battery packs as low as possible to keep the center of gravity low, allowing for greater traction and handling abilities in snow and ice
Minnesota reps are 100% supportive of EVs!

I call Fake News on this post! Cold weather does not impact the performance of EVs! In addition, fossil fuel champions should recognize it’s estimated we have less than 100 years of coal generation left, 50 years of natural gas, and 50 years of crude oil. That means this is a basic problem for us, our children, and our grandchildren. That’s why we all need to embrace clean energy NOW!! AZ is a leader in helping reduce fossil fuel related health toxicities and climate change catastrophes. Get on board the clean, sustainable energy wave.

https://www.recurrentauto.com/research/winter-ev-range-loss

In testing the VW ID.4 we are getting loses 30% of its range at freezing temperature. Imagine for those of us in territories where the temperature gets subzero. I guess we will be charging in between every office. Honestly I didn’t need much more reason to take the winter off

This loss is based on published ranges. So, the ID4 of ~250 miles is significantly less during winter months (175ish). This should be fun in the northern plain states, upstate NY and northern New England.

FIFY
Now, STFU

The RAV4 Hybrid has a decent amount of crush space behind the back seat. If you use the company car to drive your family on your personal time, they will be safer in a rear end collision in the RAV4 than in the Bolt EV. The Bolt has hardly any crush space behind the back seat.

And BTW, your use of foul language shows your lack of intelligence and communication skills.

Have a great day.
