Electric vehicle garage fire

What a sad and terrible experience! What’s the matter with this company? They use to care about their employees and now it’s become a dictatorship! Give your people an option for what’s best for them. Why would you ever put anyone in a situation where they don’t feel safe. HR will have many calls about all of this so I hope they are prepared. What happened to the speak up culture? There is none!

Yup, European Socialists. Mindset of "Let them eat cake"

Home charger is not mandatory. You can simply decline and opt to use the public charging infrastructure.

Yeah, NO. So, do we charge on personal hours or company hours? Before or after work? Both? What about the weekend? If I don't want this as my personal car, and subsequently don't drive it from Friday at 4:30 until Monday at 8:30 and it goes dead, then what? Corporate cannot demand I put my personal time into this....there are so many other variables....

This is a work/company vehicle and you are complaining about personal use!! We can’t believe the entitlement of our sales reps! Shameful

Entitlement?. Just the fact you'd make a comment of this nature demonstrates the massive disconnect between the HQ cublicle rats and their understanding of the field and how our jobs work. Here is a hint: the majority of us don't live in densely populated cities and metro areas. We live in areas and territories that frequently require long drives and overnights. Concerns over range, safety, and instrastructure are legitimate and real whether you can grasp that or not.

I guess you think we should all be happy about putting our safety on the line for the company so a few idealogues at high levels making these decisions can have warm fuzzies about how enlightened they are what a huge difference they are making in saving mother earth. If employee safety and productivity were the top concerns on this issue, this thread and discussion wouldn't be ongoing.

Right. So the legal argument would be something to the effect we didn't force employees to get EV's and by extension, chargers in their home/garage. They had the option of sitting at a public charging station for 1-2 hours after work every day to charge up. Not our fault they chose to have the charger at home and their garage/home burned down.

Now I am admittedly no lawyer but I am pretty sure that defense wouldn't hold up to well in a legal proceeding.

If you were really dedicated to AZ , you wouldn’t mind risking a house fire with your EV! Also, you should be forced to put in a charger in your garage and to pay for it! Remember this is all good for the patient, so just do it!

Good luck hitting your calls per day expectations if you have to use public chargers, which are frequently either broken or being used by someone else. You'll spend hours per day charging the damn car.

GFY, you POS. We are in talks with the AFL-CIO.... We are going to organize ALL of pharma against these actions and more. When the truth comes out, you all will be F'd.

No biggie. Just charge up at 8:00AM or 2:00PM. Need to remember, we have an all day lie to keep alive. I have realized that senior leadership are some really stupid F's.

Everyone with concerns should contact the EV Communications email address. Maybe, must maybe we can restore some sanity.

That email is manned by outsourced EV enthusiasts. I'm not sure these people have any power.

Maybe some media coverage would put some heat on leadership. They don't want shareholders worried. Shareholders should be worried, though. This is severely hurting culture and morale. People are unahppy, others are leaving because of it. Also, talented people will not apply with our company because of the EVs!

And tell us all how productive that would be to sit at a charger for hours each day. Y’all this is stupid. I have a friend at GSK and they are giving options of hybrids or EVs. That’s the way it should be. WAKE UP MANAGEMENT.

100% I have a kid whose bedroom is over our garage. This terrifies me. I will speak up. But they don’t care.
