Employees are the people who pay into unemployment through the taxes that are withheld from the pay they receive. When you file for unemployment insurance benefits, it doesn't mean anything other than you were fired/laid off with NO PROOF OF WRONGDOING.

Unemployment insurance is a temporary means to assist people in meeting their financial obligations while they seek to find gainful employment. There are requirements that have to be met in order to continue receiving these benefits. It isn't charity, it isn't welfare and it certainly isn't proof of anyone being lazy. The only thing that it is proof of is that you were laid off/terminated for no other reason other than the company sucks.
