DM meeting next week to discuss realignment?

Yes there is....managers already have heard their fate from company...reps will find out their fates in very very near future! Meeting for DMs later this month is to announce their new territories and reps who will work for them. Alot of regrouping and minimizing overlap of sales forces.

The interesting thing about your post is you are too low on the totem pole to really know ANY decisions upper management makes, other than a few days in advance. You may be a DM, but you are basically a rep with a few more responsibilities. Middle management.

You are probably right about your assertion but it is okay to admit that as a DM, you have no real ability to make any decisions in terms of marketing/P and L/strategy, etc.

If you were honest with yourself, you could admit your job is to put 25 year old reps. on PIPs and ride around with them so that you can both act like you either know what you are doing, or that you work at all.

I worked at a place that laid off a bunch of employees (i was one) and we got a boat load of samples a few weeks before we were let go. The company wanted to flood the area with samples int he hopes they would spur RXs in the absence of reps. Then when we were told we had two days left in the field and they wanted us to return 0 samples if at all possible.
