I'm not happy about all these lay offs but after seeing some of the post it became evident that we need to, as some of you are just vile pieces of shit. You blame everything on minorities, gays and women when the blame should fall on those white men like you who sit on top of leadership. This same bias is now used against you as the rationale for business model change when we all know it's all about the Benjamin's. We are all being played FFS! Put the blame where it belongs, no need to lay it on your colleagues just because they are different from you. Making statements that everybody are inferior than you doesn't prove your greatness. It just proves that you're nothing but an entitled dumb asshole that would not get anywhere without the "I was born a white male entitlement." Thats such BS.....There are many companies hiring. forget syneos etc.... GNE hired people like this person which was the demise of the company. The egos are astonishing. If there are "many opportunities", how do the contract companies stay afloat? Who in their right mind would take a job working a one year contract, making (what Im told is) 66% of Big Pharma salary? Im just wondering.There are opportunities out there, be patient.

bumping this back up to the top... don't forget what Dean (and by default, the whole Customer Engagement work team) said, they are going to go outside Genentech to increase the diversity of our organization. period. it's what he/leaders are doing (and by default, saying they don't want to retain existing people).
Yes, non-diverse people will be told it's because you lack the right mindset/skills/capabilities for the "new ecosystem model" or some other cover...it's about visible diversity, has been from the very beginning.
I don't really see anything wrong with what they're doing, I just wish they'd be more honest about the whole thing and just call it...hey, we're going to hire x number of diverse candidates. It doesn't mean if you're not selected you're not qualified or anything, just not what Genentech wants right now. Employers can hire whoever they want. Just be honest with everyone.
Like everyone has stated in previous post. Genentech is one of the lost diverse work culture out there! If you want a Punjabi in a head dress. Guess what? We got that.
