Lol, you’re just as guilty. I’m not the OP but I’m smart enough to know that DEI is DEAD and it was forced down our throat, same as BLM, and all the other BS Since 2019. The DEI stuff has to stop. For those constantly saying it, it's baffling you don't realize how dumb you sound. As a minority who has worked for many companies in this industry, trust me, it's never been a result of DEI. I've never had a referral, a relative, been promoted not on merit, or gotten any job other than applying and at times reaching out to managers on linkedin. You wanna talk DEI, look at every sales team across divisions in all pharma companies. They are predominantly white. And the occasional minority. Take out South Florida and Atlanta and they are definitely predominantly white. Quit using Dez as your punching bag for your racist tropes. Leadership can be good or bad and it has nothing to do with race. And if you believe that all these white men in power got there on merit, you need a history lesson. DEI has never been about black folks. They fall very low on that list. And at the end of the day, there is no pressure on anyone to hire based on DEI. DEI opened the door to interviewing and engaging minority candidates, as well as various sexual orientations. That individual still has to be qualified. Look around the room at your next NSM and tell me how much DEI you see. If you wanna be a racist, then be a racist. Quit using DEI as the vehicle to drive your racist narratives.
 



Dez is an ingenuine smuck. Less than 2 months ago he was boasting posting social media videos from the NSM of his 4k Novartis reps. That no good bastard making a Mockery of reps before engaging in a blood bath lay off weeks later. What a no good loser.

Is Dez a human that may deserve the position he has oblivious of his characteristics? Yes, Is Dez a horrible manager? Yes, I personally don't care what color , creed, race or orientation my leaders are, as long as they can inspire to lead and make us a success, Novartis has been incredibly successful at putting leaders of our sales organization into place that are so unconnected with the markets within which they compete that all they can do is manage by spreadsheet, It doesn't matter how they identify, or how they ended up in their position, they are horrible.
 






I don’t get why Dez is a DEI hire when all of the leaders prior to him were just as crappy. Duane was given far too long in his position. The list goes on. Novartis hires shitty leadership that is out of touch. Simple as that.
 






Yes Dez sucks and obviously knew a bunch of CV people being laid off when he stood up on stage in Vegas. How could have handled better? Get on stage in Vegas and announce layoffs happening in 2 months? Not bring CV team to Vegas. Too disruptive. They did say some vague statement about changes and adapting. We all knew coming anyway with Entresto. Leqvio 84% to goal this quarter so far for the nation. Novartis getting theirs for launching and managing this drug so horribly. Unfortunately, we are all at the mercy of their crappy leadership.
 



All of this goes far beyond just Dez alone. Novartis is a woke company that openly embraces DEI. It’s not like they are hiding it. T4G reiterated their goal of 45% management positions held by women. I am watching under qualified women get promoted into management left and right often without even having to complete developmental prerequisites or even a transient training role. There is totally a double standard against white males. Ok wait for it… This is fair and equitable because white males dominated the US for 200+ years. It’s payback. Makes perfect business sense and great for shareholder value.
