Dermatology Expansion

Bad: topicals are hard to price to make money/generic world, no derm heritage, low salaries, hard to launch anything with Covid restrictions

Good: good takeover candidate so get your equity up there, small company that hasn't been infected with Amgen, Novartis, Abbie types yet - so the first couple years you will be invented to sell/earn. After that, look for big Pharma bone heads to infiltrate and implement selling models, coaching guides, all the BS that kills culture but grows activity

Infected by AZ is better? Cmon man!

Incyte is the next Celgene. Hands down. Small company, they have other strong divisions, pay their rep’s health insurance- which is unheard of, high base, huge equity and great IC plan, including a $10k training bonus. Shows how much they care about their people unlike Amgen. I accepted a rep position at Incyte (more than what I was making at Amgen) after being severed from
that shithole getting 18 months worth of salary plus bonus for that time (thank you Ron& Joe hand) Amgen was a dumpster fire. Webexes and CC’s everyday. No time to actually sell. Offices hate amgen reps. All celgene reps and managers leaving Amgen. Mass exodus.

Congratulations on the new gig! Were you a rheumatology or dermatology rep at Celgene?

Of course Amgen is a hive of fake activity, but what Incyte doesn't have is Ron.

Ron made the culture, through the DMs, down to the reps.

Ron controlled training (no Jedi's running around claiming 20 year old p values are important).

Ron controlled IC (the most important element of behavior modification)

Ron controlled the Awards Trips (motivated to stay out late)

Without Ron, Incyte will just be a much, much better place than Amgen but it won't be close to being a Celenge. That is over.

I think the real thing Incyte has going for them is they don't have Debbie around polluting the culture with her toxic behavior.

So I guess that means the non compete at Amgen doesn’t matter much if all those reps and their managers are moving over to Incyte.

Huge salary? My question to you is what’s your current salary now? You must make peanuts or perhaps you are jobless??

They very clearly stated “that’s a huge salary for a topical.” They didn’t say it was a huge salary compared to their current salary. Literacy is fun.

With that being said, don’t compare to topical salaries, compare to biologic salaries. They’re asking because a lot of people are being recruited who have never sold the latter but only the former.

So how much do you make?

They’re counting on Amgen not caring. Amgen will wait until the full hiring is done, then they will pursue legal action against the employees who broke the non-solicit agreement. It happens quite frequently and unfortunately it’s really the reps who lose and end up unemployed.

I think what most people are forgetting is that the non-compete only involves drugs promoted while at Amgen that are direct competitors with the product you promoted. Of which, Otezla is indicated for PsO & PsA, not atopic dermatitis. Technically they are separate disease states and don’t compete, which gets the rep out scot free...

As for managers, that’s a different story, although I don’t know exactly what they signed. However, most of the time w managers it revolves around poaching the reps at your prior company...
