CV/Renal Specialty Layoff

Can we all just be honest for a moment. We refer to CV and Renal as specialty - but we are functioning no different than primary care. Not to mention that we have allowed mediocrity to flourish with the Andexxa team, just look at what we celebrated as "success". This had to be done and probably should have been done a long time before. We have such an overinflated opinion of ourselves and this is coming from someone that was also displaced. I wish everyone the best and I am relieved to stop playing specialty. At any time I could have been replaced by a contract rep and they would have done just as well. I think our Pres and Senior leaders got this right and they are good people.

If they treated us as true specialty reps, we would be free to see who we knew would drive the business, as often as we knew was needed. They would actually trust us to run our business, instead of just saying the words.

Instead we have a top down system where HQ thinks having us running from office to office all day will deliver. It doesn’t work that way with specialists.
 






So sorry to hear. A couple of folks I know were laid off. Different specialty but once Q4 is paid out, I’m outta here in a somewhat different industry. This is a horrible industry to be in constant layoffs and turnover and they clearly don’t give a crap about the main people driving revenue and that’s the sales rep. Sad. Billions of dollars, CEO n upper management making millions a year yet pay reps a crappy severence, hire and fire reps is the only thing this industry knows to cut costs. No loyalty no stability. Couldn’t be happier to get out soon!

I think many are still just processing the depth of this one...I mean its never surprising especially at AZ around the holidays...but this was brutal and so many strong reps / mangers were cut with many of the decisions making very little sense. The new norm in this business is to allow the third parties to decide on who stays and goes...usually with disastrous results. The biggest problem that I am facing is the realization that many other big pharma companies have been cutting for months and that come January it is going to be tough to navigate.
 
























Lots of politicking going on surrounding the few open positions in CVRM and even other divisions is what I'm hearing...I'll keep my severance and move on thank you very much.

R u surpised? This has been happening time after time! I would be surprised if it dosen't happen. YOu'll only survive in CVRM if you're Sarah's favorite. I was gonna apply for a job but was told I wasn't on the succession list they've. So basically they told me don't bother applying cause I would never get that job. I asked my manager how do I get on to the succession list & she told me I've to be in Sarah's good books! So unless your name is Peterson, Sebolka or Tolivar, don't even try. It's not worth it!

I love it!! Every time I get paid I know I got two more weeks out of AZ. Haven't "worked" in 17 months, free money!!
