CSA Openings

Still no word in Virginia, so I'm left to assume I did not get the position. I know they did a background check and checked my references but I am sure that the offers have to go out by 1/31. Oh well, congrats to all that got an offer! Good luck at training!

So if offers are really out, can y'all let us know. Thanks.

Interviewed 1/24, received phone call for job offer 1/26.... Received emails for everything shortly thereafter. Already have flight and hotel reservations set up for end of this month.

Congratulations, happy for you. How long were you in pharma? Several from my last company also interviewed but only one got the job; that indidual had less than 2 years in pharma.

Not the OP of the quote but it seems that for the CSA position they don’t require or want people w/past pharma exp. AZ did huge rep layoffs for a reason, they don’t want the same type. Majority of the hired have less than 5 years work experience. Mostly in other sales or CS fields. Only an Associates is required but most have Bachelors.

After making 130 thousand dollars a year in pharma sales for about the last 5 years of my career, I found that sort of payoff was a thing of the past while looking for other jobs, post big pharma lay offs.

Oh, I found jobs and I worked but I couldn't find anything that didn't pay over 30,000 dollars a year plus bonus and oh....use my own, old car, with supplemental coverage for wear and tear plus gas. Making my yearly income about 40 thousand a year.

I'd much rather take this job as a CSA, the work isn't a demeaning as to what I have resorted myself to doing...there I said it and no I'm not going to tell you (except it's ALL LEGAL)..

Thanks for sharing. It seems most of the neg posts about this are from bitter laid off reps. In the past I too made triple the CSA pay but I was offered & accepted. The pay might not be great but there’s no pressure to sell and the additional 500 car allowance, bonus, mileage, plus the awesome benefits package makes it a decent job. Let’s face it, it’s a completely different job market & economy. I’m thankful to be employed!

Totally^^ Good for you, I'm thrilled you landed this gig. I will keep throwing my hooks in the water and try to keep my chin up!

So you DID have pharma experience and you were hired? It was my understanding from the recruiter and posts here on this very thread, that pharma reps were NOT being considered.

???

This whole thread gave me a headache. As someone that worked in real B2B sales, you can actually do way better selling anything than doing this. THis sounds like the stupidest job I ever heard of. There is no long-term future so why woud you want to do this again? (unless your fresh out of college and are too stupid to know any better that this industry is falling on its generic face?)

40K IS great money? You can work in any industry just about!!! You are all whining that you did not get this "great" opportunity? Pathetic!

Where is there a long term future, in any company?

It seems like all corporations just give up on people, even the top producers.

But, you are absolutely correct about this job and any job in pharma, when you say that it is a dead end.

I am with you on that.

By the way, "real sales" jobs mostly are headaches, so it is ironic that this this thread is giving you a headache.

Pathetic? Stupid? WHY are you on this thread?! Obviously you are interested but didn't get hired! There are some who are transitioning back to the workforce after having children, yes some are new grads, others who got laid off & would rather work than be out of a job. whining about how one can "do way better selling anything than..." & calling people stupid & pathetic for doing honest work sounds like jealously to me.
