According to World Covid Update Site, United States has had 9.218 million test positive. 5.985 million or 97.4% have recovered. 234 thousand or 2.6% have died. An important question is what if 50 million become infected. A record 90000 plus tested positive yesterday, and by next week 100 thousand per day will test positive. You can do the math. Hopefully with improved treatments the death % will fall. What’s important for us is what will happen if hospitals become swamped with Covid patients and hospitals can’t do elective surgeries. None of us know for sure but the growth trends of infections is concerning, especially with colder weather and more people indoors.

More test positive because there's more testing. More is not always a scary thing unless the media repeats it. Hospitals are making money like never before, but the media shows the tiresome medical staff that encourage people to stay home and stay clean. Private investors like the virus. Hospital bills give them more money. Everyone gets paid so much, except the people that get sick. Lastly, so many people get sick because they're unhealthy to begin with. Weak immune system and poor diet/no exercise.
More deaths is a scary thing. 6 months ago there was 25000 dead, and the death rate vs. infection rate was at 2.5%. 6 months later 200000 more dead and the infection rate vs. death rate is still at 2.5%. FYI, more testing is not causing more people to die! What has caused more deaths is that one he virus has spread, more people have become infected in all 50 states, and the death rate % has remained the same.
More old people and unhealthy people dying does not scare everyone.

Do you think people over 55 or 60 should be excluded from concern or they are just expendable. You said that old people dying does not scare you or anyone. Just curious, what’s old people? If 500 thousand are dead by the end of March as projected, but their mostly people over 55 would that be any concern to you?
It DOESN'T concern me, because I'm young. This is the ignorance that influences people to be afraid of things that aren't really a danger to everyone. Common sense would tell those people in that age group to go into seclusion and be very hygienic. Projection of a horrible outcome for them isn't really a danger to the rest of us IF THEY TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES. Stop trying to babysit everyone. We are adults, we can take of ourselves. Especially in retirement age when they don't even work anymore.

The virus is doing what its genetic code tells it to; move from host to host. We humans understand this. It's in our curriculum in elementary school. Not everyone has the same immune system strength. Those who are vulnerable to severe infection or death from the virus should take necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy. The rest of us will build immunity while the vaccine is created. We are not scared like you are.
