What you are describing is what pharma sales used to be before Pfizer started hiring soldiers and cheerleaders (not that it is still this way- the job became too intellectually demanding and with too much grunt work for them to want to stick around). Pharma reps used to have to be pharmacists or science majors, but they didn’t have much business acumen. It still takes a sales mentality to do this job.
I looked overseas once and they required a PhD I think it was Ireland or England. This was years ago.
